Do many people use these? They are only necessay if your using loads over 600w + for lighting as apparently household timers are simply not designed to handle the power loads.....and i recently discovered this to be true when bust my contactor and decided to give it ago without one, and for sure it frazzled my timer (digital) and the light times were all ova the place:upsidedow
I use a low voltage coil(24v) contactor and a transformer. Run that with the timer, and use the 40 amp contacts to energize the lights and fan.
how do u set up a contactor ware duz the timer go and ware do i plug my balast this sounds daft but usuly i turn my lights on but due to whatever i need one mines is the one with two plugs an sockets im using a 600 w and a plug in timer
There are lots of books on basic electricity, and wiring. I would suggest you do a little homework, and maybe talk to the folks at your local electrical supply house.Quote:
