Is it just me or do many of you find it damn near impossible to resist pollinating your recently acquired high quality seeds rather than growing the plant for high thc content? I mean, if you're going to spend the dough how can you resist stocking up on the seed?
Time consuming and a bit of pain in the keister, but hell, well worth it.
I like to paint the lowest bud sites with pollen. Seeds on the bottom, sensi colas on top...:thumbsup:
That makes a lot of sense too. I should probably work on my skill set in that area. I guess I'm too sloppy. I always seem to over do it. Of course, after I've acquired a nice little quantity of good seed, I'm good to go.Quote:

It is indeed. I get quite a lot of my seeds from "hermied" females that a good friend of mine seems to get in his grow fairly often. I don't seem to get the same issue myself so never have any seeds "left over" to play with but get some good things to try from him.
Sidenote: I wouldn't want to pollinate the seeds I get as they aren't very stable by the third generation or so but just to grow out and use for ourselves it works out fine. :)
That reminds me, a "friend of a friend" grew out seven "ICE" seeds from nirvana and one of the plants looks like a totally different strain. I'm not trying to bad mouth Nirvana because they are good folks, but WTF?
A lot fo Nirvana gear is F2s (knockoffs, if you must be technical lol)... Variation is to be expected; you should know what you are looking for in a given pack, and follow the correct procedure for choosing and propagating an exceptional mother.
I buy Nirvana seeds and grow them out, saving the best female for a clone mother, and if you want to back up your seed collection, choose the female that best represents what the strain is SUPPOSED to be, and pollinate a clone of her with the most healthy, vigorous male, and enjoy your genetics!
I'm FINALLY getting to the importance of good genetics....three years into growing, lol. I'm slow but not totally hopeless. :D
