Is Depression a qualifying condition?

I have been suffering from depression most of my life, but much more so the past year, after my Dad died. I took Lexapro for about 8 months, but felt it wasn't helping me so much. Also I gained 20 LBS in the time I took it. I am wondering if I took my files from the Mental Health center I was treated at to a Cannibias Dr. if I could get qualified. Also, I live in NV, so I am wondering if I need to come back to CA and get an ID card too. Thanks for any help.

In California, you would be qualified. Just about any time you get a prescription (with antibiotics being the exception*), you can get a California recommendation from a doctor.
