Vent Question 4x4x4 grow box

I was thinking about getting the 6" inline duct fans and using them as my intake and exaust for my newly built grow box. High Tech Garden has them and claims they move 250 cfm. I have a 400watts hps light. There will be on the intake side along with the inline duct fan a small swamp cooler that will double as a fan and inside the box blowing across the light toward the exause is two small clip fans 6" i think i the size. Would the 250 cfm inline duct fan be enough of an exaust or do I need to upgrade to a bigger exaust?

250 should be plenty for you. I kept a 1kw hps plenty cool with a 170cfm and 4" in ducting and that worked just fine so you should be for you. (in fact that's what I use for my 400w hps these days.......4 inch ducting and my 170cfm fan, lol.)

i use the 8in. in-line duct fan BOOSTER i get them at home depot for cheap they keep my ecno 400hps with built in ballest plenty cool:thumbsup: go big now so you wont have to upgrade later....i wish i had that advice b4 i bought my light owell u live and learn right;)

With the single 400w hps, I assume you're working with a rather small grow space. How do you think the 170cfm w/4" ducting and carbon filter added in (minus any glass on your hood) would help towards odor control in your situation? You know, the take out some heat and kill off some odor at the same time approach. Are you currently venting out of your space?
