When To Transplant ? HELP!!

hello everyone
its spring and ive just germinated my babies and i have to go to queensland for 2 weeks tomorow so im making my mate take care of them but he can only take care for 4 days

I was wondering if the sprout is alright to be transplanted into a bigger pot which is all prepared with the correct pH.
it only just curled out todayy in the sun for about 9 hours and yeah the pot is wayyy to small , so it desperately needs to be transplanted just to a 5 gall pot because im sure by the time i get back it will have outgrown the hard plastic pot that its in at the moment

and if its ok to transplant i was wondering what is the best way to do it with such a fragile and tiny sprout without stress and shock overload

That pot does not look "wayyy too small" and I don't think it will be in 2 weeks time either. I believe the rule of thumb is one inch of pot per inch of plant. Actually, as I understand it, if you put them in pots that are TOO big their root structure branches all out and I think that makes it a bit less efficient. I think it will be safe in that pot for 2 weeks, honestly.

Hey thanks for the help , it looks bigger in that foto the total height of the pot is 5 inches and the soil ends at about 4.5 inches and i planted the sprout 3/4 of an inch , so that leaves 2.7 inches to grow lol

you reckon that would get onto the second node ?
i have all the stuff ready for transplant but i think ile stick with your advice

That pot is way too BIG.
It won't need transplant any time soon, but if there is any fertilizer in that soil at all, you could have problems. I see bits of bark mulch... what is it?

dont know , i put organic soil in a pot over 2 mnths ago and it sat out in the open and bits of tree and shit have fallin into it , then ive recently put the germinated seed into the soil and after 1 day it looks like that , the red stem doesnt look to good dont ya reckon , i reckon i should transplant it to the same pot just different soil while its young ..
what do you think?

That stem is a bit strange but I'm too new to this to know exactly what it means. In older plants I thought it meant nutrient lock-out but that wouldn't really apply to a seedling.

I don't think it started in an ideal situation with you not knowing what's gotten into that pot but I am not sure changing soil now would be good either, those are delicate little roots growing under there.

If you do that I would try to contain the bits closest around the plant (and beneath it) to keep from stressing the fragile little roots. Just replace the outer bits of soil. (If that makes sense)

I don't know mate. MJ is a fairly tough plant, it might be just fine as it is.

yes that makes sence , but yeah im sure itle be fine ile just leave it , im just worried about the red / purple stem but yeah you think this baby is good for direct sunlight ? its spring right now in australia and has been sunny everyday ..

I think it might be because its too cold at night aswell , i bring it indoors , at peak day its 24 celcious outdoors ( 75f ) and at night its around 10 - 12 celcious indoors at night ( 48f ) , it might be in shock from the weather changes or something
