If attending Boston Freedom Rally MUST READ THIS!!!

This message from the Committee for Sensible Marijuana Policy is being forwarded to MPP subscribers on the Yes on Question 2 campaign's behalf:

It has come to our attention from an impeccable source that opponents of Question 2 â?? specifically Billy Breault, head of the Main South Alliance for Public Safety, and likely other individuals â?? will be attending the Freedom Rally with the expressed intent of making sure people who break the law are arrested.

This is being done as an attempt to generate negative press about the Question 2 campaign â?? even though we are not affiliated with this event in any way and we do not promote or condone marijuana use â?? and we urge all attendees to bear this in mind.

If you are attending the Freedom Rally, please be mindful that there will be a heavy police presence, both in uniform and undercover, and opponents in the crowd actively working to get people arrested. Please do not break any laws and be safe. Please circulate this message to everyone you know who plans on attending this event.

CSMP is not affiliated with this event and we do not promote or condone marijuana use. We are sending this message simply to pass on important information of which we have become aware as a service to our supporters.


Question 2 (for those of you who don't know) would decriminalize marijuana possession of 1 oz or less in Mass. In the polls it looks like a landslide for a vote of yes however this is the kind of thing we'll be dealing with here in Mass until the vote goes through. They are going to arrest and book as many smokers as they can in the meantime. Most of the efforts to campaign for a no vote are being orchestrated by the states District Attourneys Office. They're job is to uphold the laws we give them to uphold. Not to choose which ones they like and don't like. I wish there was something we could do about it.

They have tried everything they can to stop the annual event all together sponsored by High Times. Event organizers were forced to go to court again this year over the oppositions petty and ridiculous arguments. The distirct attourneys office meanwhile organized on the steps of the stsate building with on and off duty police officers to oppose question 2 publicly. So while we pay their salaries with our tax dollars they spend their time making demonstrations against something the majority of mass tax payers want passed.
