this one is for stinky!

well lately it has been getting colder here but still hot in the days.
i run my lights at night and have been opening the window letting all the cold air in.. When my light is on at 8pm-8am my temps start out at 80 then goes to 90 for an hour or so and they drop every hour down to 75.. when my light is off during day time i close my window and keep the ac at 75 in my house but my temps are around 78-80

my question is,, with temps like this are my plant going to go hermaphrodite?

one plant is 6 weeks into flower all overs are about 2 or 3 weeks in

It depends a lot on the genetics, and whether when it is quite warm, they are getting GOOD AIR FLOW. By that I mean fresh CO2-rich air, not just fans blowing inside the room.
Try opening your window as soon as the outside temp falls below the inside temp, and putting a box fan in the window to cool it faster so that you don't get that spike to 90.

she already said it all. My temps go from 72-85 and i've never had a hermie. Though i suppose it's possible, I've never heard of plants hermieing (?) from heat stress, especially from a 75-90 range. Although 90 isn't optimal, it isn't outlandish. Talk to some of the people hittin' 110 degrees!!! Like she said, it's all about stable genetics and good (fresh) airflow.

well the thing im concerned about is that my temps are sometimes high during the dark period.... i have a box fan already there its just hard to tell when the temps drop outside ... maybe i should wait long to flip my lights on like until 9 instead of 8? i have a good intake and exhaust soo they gett plenty of fresh air



thanks for advice i hope i dont get hermies... i thought maybe cuz of the high temps then low temps then high temps could cause a lot of stress

Yes, heat is one way to stress your plants into hermaphrodism, but no...it's not a good way to do so. (for those that stress for femmed seeds)
Any excessive stress can cause hermies, whether it's light stress, chemical stress, over-ripening, heat-cold treatments, silver colloidial treatments...

If you are not experienced with growing cannabis, and there are existing stresses from improperly administered nutes, ph fluctuations, improper soil chemistry, overwatering... (just a couple of the common causes of stress) it doesn't take much heat to push the ladies over the edge, and throw-out some nanners.

As one that is forced to grow in intollerable conditions (in the desert, outdoors shed) I do not recommend arbitrarily telling someone that excessive heat is ok, as it's not. Unless you understand how to properly deal with it and have no other viable alternative...best to keep the temps within 'normal' ranges.
