To grow with accidental seeds?
Last year, someone who looks just like me, failed in an indoor grow. He baked 9 plants (Joey Weed NLxC99) in an unventilated closet. When 6 were left and just hanging on, he re-planted outside. One immediately died. Through summer, two remained wimpy and eventually died (one definitely eaten by something - animal or insect).
From the two females and one male, he got seed.
Would you grow again from these accidental seeds? They are still pure NL99, but because next generation plants, are they not as good as the original generation?
I searched forums for 2 days and could not find an answer. People on this forum seemed smart so I joined just to ask this question.

If the plants made it to maturity then the seeds will be viable.
The genetics weren't at fault and therefore it is very possible that if you don't make the same mistakes again you should be able to use them with more success this time.

Thanks, I have a hard time understanding my own question too. I know they are viable and that the genetics were good. I saw many people here that produce seed from their best plants, but they select them for best traits.
Is it possible that because they are next generation that they will be different from the parents?
Is it always more reliable to buy seedbank seeds or clone your good plants (not grow from seeds produced by your own plants)?
If doing a small grow for ones own head with only one plant choice, would you grow these or buy some more seeds from a trusted seedbank?
The only thing I know about these plants are that they are survivors. They survived a dumb arse grower. They were never selected the way I see people do here for best quality smoke and other traits.

oh, hell yeah ! , if those seeds weren't the offspring of a hermie, you got yourself some great seeds for next grow ... that isn't always true, but Joey has stabilized his plants for many a generation, they should be just fine ... and, I really liked my NL99s ...

Thanks, you made me really happy and I'm glad I mentioned they were NL99. I didn't know it mattered what kind of plants and that some plants are stable breeds.
I will try with these seeds.
Side note:
These plants were remote and only checked on at the end of last summer. The male had dumped a ton of yellow pollen all around itself and was shriveled up and kind of dead looking. The 2 females had very very tiny buds all over them with lots of red hairs. They looked like crap and maybe had enough for a couple of joints I thought if cured. They were left hanging in the attic and forgotten about for a year and pulled down yesterday when I was hanging out looking at a wasp nest.
It is a coincidence that I bought an inline vent last week and was just getting round to try again to grow in the same closet.
These seeds are out of stock and did I mention how happy I am that you said they are good!
(Warning: I will be back posting grower questions if I can't search an answer. I write wordy posts cause I'm uncool...the same way I come across in person.)

Joey Weed's 'NL99' was the proud Momma of my 'NorCal Daddy's Girl' hybrid, that Stinkyattic grew into a 4th Place Cup Winner at the New England Nugs & Jugs ... good stuff

You have NL99 F2 and NL99 S1 feminized now. You will see variation among the offspring since that is the nature of the F2 generation from plants pollinated by hermi sacs from OTHER individuals, and the S1 generation from plants which pollinated THEMSELVES lol.
As long as you don't repeat your mistakes, you should be okay- those genetics are good quality and should not herm under normal conditions.

Just in case, John Doh will get some seedbank NLxAK47 and do half&half with these NL99 F2s.
