Alaska's legal, and I didn't even know
I just read this on norml's site just because I'm curious...
"Possession of one ounce or less of marijuana in the privacy of the home is legal. The status of possessing an amount between one ounce and four ounces is unclear, pending clarification by the courts. Possession of 4 ounces or more of marijuana is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.
Possession of less than 25 plants is protected under the Alaska Constitution??s right to privacy (See Ravin v. Alaska). Possession of 25 or more marijuana plants is ??Misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree? and is punishable by a fine of up to $50,000 or five years in prison.
Any possession within 500 feet of school grounds or a recreation center or possession on any school bus is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.
Sale, delivery or manufacture of marijuana of less than one ounce is a misdemeanor and is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000. For amounts of one ounce or greater, the crime is a felony which can be punished with a sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.
It is an affirmative defense to possession, manufacture or delivery that the offender is a patient or caregiver who is registered with the state for medical use of marijuana.
Maintaining any structure or dwelling, including vehicles, to use for keeping and distributing marijuana, is a felony offense and punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000."
That's pretty cool...And it shows me it's not the fact of people "violating federal law" in california by helping people get pot who need it..it's merely about seizing assets..(and pot)

first thing I checked was if it was or not. The fines are outrageous, or is it just me!
Let's hope this does not become a Presidential or VP's decision if MPalin are our next 4 yrs!! This scares me!
We saw how much Bush would change the Amendments and Constitution if he could have, how far will the next prez go?
I read someone, not my idea in can.com; suggest: Give each party the same amount of $ to run a campaign (include all the independent one's also) and see who and what kind of President we get!! :D PR

last i heard it the whole scheme that you mentioned was abolished a few years ago, but i may be wrong. Either way no matter what your screwed if your caught growing or have posession of MJ in a vehicle or in a place of residence then it is a felony. that is what the last line of the charges you could face. But it is cool that you can be registered as a caregiver and grow plants for someone else, it always helps to know your product through diligent testing too.

thats really cool, i heard about it a few months ago, and even told a friend we were moving up there cause weed is pretty much legal, except for some fines. Then i heard that they changed them and hadn't looked back since, but now i know, and it is again on my list of places to move when the US cant hold it anymore. Alaska, BC canada, and guyana.
