Couple of noobie questions

OK...I finally took the plunge....have an appointment next week for MM certification with a local Doc....pretty sure he will approve based on some serious medical conditions. It is the only thing that really helps me.

1) Once I recieve the Doc's Letter...is that all I need to go to a Co-Op and purchase?? Not interested in any card ...if that will show up on my Drivers License.

2) Can anyone suggest a Co-Op that is fair and honest? I'm in Riverside County, CA.....but not that far from Orange County, CA....so either will work

3) What about those "Home Delivery" Services? Are they expensive...legitimate?

4) What about the "Vaporizers"...do they work? Does it eliminate the smell?

i can help with one and four.

one) it has nothing to do with your DL, just like if you got a prescription for any other drug. MMJ and cars dont mix and you can still get a DUI.

four) yeah, vaps work and will cut down the smell dramatically.

1) I went to Riv. Cty. as well! I did not get any cards, just my 'recommendation!" I do not live in Riv. Cty. It was the closest doc in the I.E.: I was told by a Riv. City. resident that his was placed on his CDL, that did not come up with my Dr. You may ask about a 'State Card', my guess is, that may, so ask-since that is the question of the year (however, I will find out for sure, next meeting). Since, the guy is loaded all the time, that gave me the CDL info, I am not sure. Plus, he is a Kush grower and has been busy with his grow and I can no longer find him!! A wealth of knowledge too, oh well!
2) Most likely, they will give you a list of where to buy. Which is what they did for me! As far as honest, good luck there. I have read, a few have had a problem with that. If you do not get a list of where to buy, come back and ask. I am no PC nut, but I could write down a few places from my list! Don't buy when you are not paying attention to what is going on. Which is what I have picked up from other posts of people in South. Cal.! One can assume at $400.00 an ounce this is a serious business transation and you can't complain if you get screwed, so don't let it happen, if you can help it.
3) Most are home delivery and if you don't live within the delivery area, they will meet you or charge more to get to you. The price is the same, otherwise.
4) Vape is the best way and everyone in my docs office was doing it when I arrived. I could not smell it, but I could tell they were all loaded. When I vaped, I smelled it some, but not much; mostly, it tasted better (good bud). It is smooth and you will read a lot on it in the Vape section of this forum, plus it is better for you. Vape's can be portable by getting a D/C adaptor for your vehicle, if you need to take it with you-like camping! I enjoyed it. And I would not have smelled if we didn't smoke a joint afterward! Sort of got started and just did not stop.

Somewhere I saw 'clone': Briefly (and I am not an expert, by any means-in fact there is a sticky or post on how to clone by Stinky, you can look up). In short, it is a piece of the plant that is cut and grown and often re-sold or grown for personal use by the grower. Many, have a really good grow and do not want to start from seed, so they start some clones from what would now be called the "mother" plant. Plus, if the mother is female, you have a female (no seeds)! Grow from a seed or buy a clone to start your grow. Clones, of course, are faster, since they are already started! Does that help. At this point, probably enough infomation!

The Co-op's or dispensary will issue you a card after they verify you are legit. But, it doesn't mean you have to go there!

I read about a place ..."Alternative Caregiver Services"....sounds pretty good...have you heard of them ??

Where would I buy a Vape? On the internet? How much would a decent one cost? Sounds very cool...but I never even seen one, so I got alot to learn about the Vape

I also would like to grow a couple of plants...so the "Clone" sounds like a good idea.....where should I look to buy a couple ??

You mentioned the THC Clinic....what is that? Where are the monthly meetings? I would like to meet some people who are in the MMJ program

Hi Avocado, I can't help you on the Riverside/Orange but can help with a couple of questions. Once you get your card you can go to a co-op you'll need your Driver's license to register with the co op also be sure to go to the co op during your doctor's operating hours or they will not be able to register your first visit and without registration no meds. It won't be flagged on your DL they just need to verify you are you.
Clones are basically cuttings from an adult "mother" Many of the co ops sale clones. There is a clone vendor in Temecula that I have heard good things from but again I never have been too far from me.
Vapes are great but big bucks you don't want to go budget if you decide to go with one its sort of you get what you pay for. I have heard that the Volcano vape is the best.
As far as co-ops go in general....check out the lists of co ops here and at weed tracker .com they do post menus and patients do review base on their experiences with individual co ops. The best advice I can give you is to always remember that the co ops are for the most part compassionate but they are a business so treat it as such.
Growing outside in Cali is pretty easy you can find all sorts of growing info here for every kind of grow. Start small and start simple if you can find some cheap bagseed start with that.

I think I found them under the sites listed under norml: I expect you may find it in the phone book, as well. We aren't allowed to hook-up, etc on this site. See what you can find, I had no problem! MAPP meets at the same place--an activist group. You can buy clones there!

Once I go to the next meeting, I'll find out, if it is possible to list them on this site or if they will list on this site!

I think I passed on "Alternative Caregivers" and I can't remember why! I just kept looking up the sites, everyone, here gave me; And took advice such as what lunarose is giving you.

Avocado, I have a couple of more tips. Some of the co ops carry and sell beans so you can go that route instead of clones.
I'm somewhat Dyscalculic so figuring ounce/eight/gram prices can confuse me and I have been burned buying shake because of it. Anyway if you are good at math its no problem but it you are not...just be careful.

Got my Docs Rec yesterday morning....ordered some meds via "Home Delivery" in the afternoon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a relief, after all these years... to be able to have access to meds without the threat of getting busted.
