Magnetic ballast question

Is there any way on switching a magnetic ballast with a digital ballast on a 400 watt hps system. I'm asking because my hps ballast is magnetic and I found some digital ballast that take both mh and hps bulbs and I was hoping to save some money buy just buying the ballast. Any help would be appreciated.

Some have a different plugin for the light and some are hardwired to the ballast. You might have to do a little rewiring
