It only with the trichome that you'll know if the plants are ready !
leebud, it really depends on what kind of high you want from the bud. When the trichomes change from clear to cloudy, they have ripened; when they begin to turn amber, they are beginning to decline/die. From clear to cloudy, the resultant high is more of an "up" high; and, from cloudy to amber, the high is more of a couch lock.
I've received several bits of good advice when it comes to determining ripeness. You can purchase a jeweler's 30x loupe - I bought 1 from a store doing business with Amazon for about $8. You can either try to look directly at the trichomes on the buds, or you can snip off a tiny piece to look at under the loupe a bit easier. If you don't have a loupe or other "microscope," then I've been told you can look at the pistils/hairs to make a general assessment. Once the majority of pistils have dried to hairs (brown, red, orange, etc.) the trichomes should be mostly cloudy turning to amber.
I harvested my first plant when the trichomes were clear to cloudy, with the vast majority being cloudy, and the resultant high is a wicked "up" high that sends my mind off onto some great and invigorating trains of thought. As above, it really depends on the high you are seeking.
From the looks of your buds, it appears you have a few more weeks of development though.
Be good out there!

Let us know when you have the microscope and if they are ready.
Hi, They are looking good. Do you have a loupe? I know that some go by the pistils and harvest when half of them have turned amber but like Jake said it really depends what kind of affect you want. I'd wait a week and take a sample and try it.
Patience.....and you will be rewarded....
give them at least eight weeks of flower time...at least:hippy:
beautiful buds!
