WTF!?

I had a little plant outside, almost a seedling but a few small leaves bunched together and I got home today and the top was just ripped off, do you think a bird could have taken it? Do birds eat vegetative stage plants? I'm kinda paranoid someone saw it and took it.

and if somebody had seen it and taken it, the pot would be gone

I was thinking maybe a bird took it for making a nest or something, not eating
