Weed never ceases to amaze me

As if we all don't already know; weed is the healing herb. I love weed. I love smoking it, I love eating it, I love the smell of it, I love being around it, and of course...I love how it makes me feel. Mary Jane is girl.

I'm here to talk about just another reason why cannabis is so great. Nothing new or out of the ordinary here. Just feel like writing about it...

I recently started a new job. I haven't had a job that deals so much with customer service in about a year. I was thrown into an environment I was unfamiliar with and forced to fend for myself. I held my own and did well..but damn was it stressful. I've been here for about 2 weeks now but the first few days were intense. I woke up before my third ever shift at this job and felt like shit. Ever just wake up and wish you didn't have to get out of bed for the entire day. I felt nervous, anxious, tired, irritable, and just not looking forward to the long day ahead.

I hadn't wanted to smoke before this new job. I wanted to keep my mind clear and whatnot, but that morning...I just felt I should. I decided to take one fat bong rip about two hours before work and wowwww, did it help. All my 'bleh' feelings were out the door and I was more than happy to make some money that evening (no matter how stressful it was going to be). Later I thought, "I should be required to toke up before going in for this job."

I've been smoking for close to 3 years now, so this is nothing new. But still. Sometimes we recreational smokers forget how much of a medicine marijuana can truly be used as. Ahhhh, the healing herb. You never let me down, MJ :stoned:

I'm sure many of you have had similar experiences to this. At the very least, Medical Marijuana needs to be legalized at the federal level.

dude, i completely agree. I feel the same way sometimes, though i will typically smoke before work just because i can, i dont really anymore, i get sorta paranoid there, not the customers, more the other employees i feel notice, but only because we have so few employees we all know each other rather well.

but the after work, calm down, anti-stress, anti-anxiety smoke is always the best. I feel it helps so much that i even cut on my usual way home, which is actually a rather large road, and high traffic is always afoot. though it sorta makes it easier, the cops are less likely to be targeting people to help keep the flow smooth.

and i never really think about it as being medicinal for me, because in my state medical MJ is still sorta strange, its legal, but if you get caught they take all your stash and give a 100 dollar fine, plus to get MMJ you would pretty much have to have all your limbs cut off, and pretty much know the governor. Much less having access to medical grade MJ would be impossible. But there is still hope, NORML is passing another bill expected to hit the WH when obama is in it if they can have their way.

yes, granny, unfortunately the link seems to have died, probably due to the "clean-up" efforts here on the boards. But i do remember reading through that list at one point, and it was rather comprehensive, and it was a valuable resource for this site, so i dont know if you happen to have another copy of it somewhere, but i personally feel that it was/is a needed resource for this site.

And i feel that even recreational users, use it medicinally without realizing it. Think about this, what is it that makes a recreational user want to use it regularly? The mood lifts? Anti-deppressant. Stress free while high? Anit-stress medicine. makes you enjoy food more? appetite stimulant. A combination of things, we are self medicating without realizing. Its just that because we dont use it specifically for anxiety or stress, or even to help sleep or stay awake, that we use it for that purpose without thinking of it in that way, so in a way most of all users have used it in a medicinal purpose, with the thoughts of having a good life for the duration of the high, when you take asprin your levels of pain go down, when you smoke weed, for whatever your reason, during the active effects of the MJ you feel relief from what it is that bothers you about not smoking, like asprin relieves the pain when you take it, and not when you dont.

thanks, i like the list, even better than before, i actually was particularly interested in the articles about the use of tobacco, by choice, and the non-use of tobacco and the effects that were noticed by its use. I also found the report about medical MJ causing an increase in teen use, when in reality it cause an inverse reaction to what they expected. I feel that that is the kind of study that supports my position on not only MJ use, but drug use in general. If the government doesnt lie, then people will stop making it a crusade to convert people.
