tell me I'm wrong, I'm asking
Here's where I'm at......
one mango kush seed germinated by means of paper towel method...........placed cracked seed, taproot down, in rapid rooter plug.........watered with tap water with a ph of 6 with 2 23w(100w) 5500k cfl's under a 10 inch reflector hood for 7 days...........on day 8 placed seedling in waterfarm with 2 6inch air stones and hydroton (soaked to ph of 6 for 5 days) and added 2 14w(60w) 5500k cfl's and 2 27w(100w) 3500k cfl's.......added 4ml of gen hydro's micro, grow, and bloom along with 4ml of hygrozyme to the 2 gallon res in the waterfarm. The cfl's are never more than 3 inches away..........temps stay between 68 and 78.......all grown in a cabinet lined with mylar.
Ok finally here's my question..........anything jump out as wrong?? Plant seems fine but it's my first grow ever and I want to get it right. As soon as I charge my camera I'll have pics.

Dude I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the kicker until I got to the end of the post. Your just more enthusiastic than a plant can handle. First, you have way too much light. Second too much nutes.
Next tell us more about the plant than the days. Like, did you get a root mass outside the rooter before you transferred it? And how many leaves does it have? In either event it doesn't need any nutes right now at all and it just needs a SINGLE 25w floro above its head and a good 9 inches even.
I know, it seems unnatural, but trust me.

do not add any fertilizers for the first two weeks after germination ... the plant carries everything it needs in it's cotyldons ...

One airstone is more than sufficient for a single waterfarm too btw. You only have to use a 1/4 tsp of gh micro, gh grow, and gh bloom also if you do feed the seedling nutes. But I usually feed the plants nutes when their 3rd set of leaves start coming in. Sometimes I just wait till I see yellowing starting on the lower leaves showing that they are sapping energy out of the lower leaves to feed. Hope that helps.:hippy:

The plant has been in the waterfarm for two days now. It has developed it's third set of leaves and looks healthy. I have had it on an 18/6 light cycle since it was placed in the rapid rooter. There were roots showing from the plug before transplant. I didn't add nutes until it showed the third set of leaves which was the same time it was put in the waterfarm. There are only about 310 ppm in the waterfarm res. (4ml of micro, grow, and bloom each with 4ml of hygrozyme) Should I get rid of the nutes and just use plain water? Whats this about to much light??? I thought more light = better grow.....? How much light should there be? When do I add more and how much? Even though the plant looks healthy now am I headed for trouble if I don't change something? Thanks for the quick replys.

Uhhh WOW!
You didn't just smoke a bit of herb that made you paranoid did you??? What's WHAT about too much light? Dude you're scaring ME and I don't even know what you're worried about.
Calm yourself and restate please......
PS....What ph are you keeping your plants at?

someone said, about 3 posts up, that I had too much light and should only be using a single 25w flouro.......that doesn't sound right to me. As far as ph I keep it between 5.8 and 6.2.

Your ph is fine man. And there isn't such thing as too much light... now there is such thing as not enough light. When your 3rd set of leaves come in... you can start feeding your plants with seedling feed... and by a week later you can change out your nutes... be sure to flush you plants hydroton each week and then start feeding the early grow feed, by the next week you should be able to feed the next step up on your feed chart on your nutes. Seedlings don't need any food really till after the 3rd set of leaves.

I think herbie was just saying that 1 25w bulb would be sufficient for now but not that 2 bulbs were too much. Saves on power costs ya know.. not that cfl bulbs take that much to begin with. So.. with a ph between 5.5 and 6.5 is good. Lots of light is a great thing not bad. and as long as you keep the temps between 75 and 85. I put my seedlings in my water farm as soon as there are 2 sets of leaves and at least one root coming through and I use plain water till the 3rd set of leaves come through. Then use seedling feed dose. But you are on the right track. I do recommend a HID lamp down the road for flowering though or you will not have that great of a yield. Like you even said... more light = more yield.
Good Luck!
