Hey everybody, Its Haro Bmx 420 again, was just wondering if anyone has input on the T12's rather then the T5's. The T12's are bigger and give off more lumens to my knowlage and have like no heat and higher wattage, im just wondering if T12's are as effiect why or why not?
t12 daylight bulbs rock, i have a couple and they keep the height of my plants really low which is cool for LST or FIMming.
My t12's put out like 1600 lumens of blue light spectrum per tube.
good for veg growth.
And the plants won't burn if they touch the tubes, that's always nice.
t12's are big so that's why people suggest t5's, so you can fit more of them into smaller spaces.
My tubes are cool to a touch keeps my temps real low/ I'm currently trying them with a combination of CFL's. The CFL's just toss off so much more heat. Pretty good on the electric bill too.
Thank you very much dyranty but you should look into your daylight bulbs, i also am using T12 Daylight bulbs and they are rated 3600 lumens :wtf: sounded kinda high to me but either way I sure like the sounds of it! Nice to see another grower using ideas :D
mine are 20 watt F20t12/d Philips daylight tubes.
Im guessing yours are 40 watts ? my fixture says multiply total wattage by 2.5 ... Not sure if that means increased lumens or not.
are your tubes 1800 a piece? or 3600 a piece?

T-5 bad points: There are no proper T-5 bulbs for budding, they are around 3000K. Use them only in veg or as bud supplements. They run hotter than T12, so you can't let the plants grow into the light like you can with T12.
My "grow room" has been re-configured from a 6ft x 6ft x 8ft room with 12 4ft 2 tube fixtures verticaly around the sides and 6 26watt CFLs from the top to a 6 ft triangle with the lighting hase been reduced from to 10 4ft 2 tube fixtures verticaly around the sides and 6 26watt CFLs from the top. I am currently using the 5000K "sunstick" tubes. Basicaly I reduced the size of the grow room by half and the total light has been increased by 30%. This is what I will be using for my next grow. The last grow turned out great.
