I would like to become the caregiver for four people legally how do I go about it?

I am already growing for myself and mom and my freind we all have prescriptions but I was told that I need a caregivers form?
And a dispensery told me my doctors office has the papers I need so I called and they are charging $50 per paper!

Duz anyone know where I cud get these caregiver papers for free?

They need to pay their own $! And think, it is a lot cheaper than $400.00 an ounce! Call other office's. Or have them get the paper when they get their 'rec'! nice you can grow, lucky them! pr :rastasmoke:

I am a caregiver and i have never heard of a caregivers form? Is it specific to your county? I know i don't need them up north here.

My understanding is that it would probably be easier not to be a caregiver.
Can't 4 mmj patients simply share in the expenses and product of a single grow? If so, I think it would be important to keep good records.
Isn't that the co-op model that prop.420 really intended? instead of the for-profit dispensaries?

I am not sure about this, just my interpretation. I would like to hear some other opinions on this since this is something I would like to do in the near future and would like to stay legal.

sure those 4 mmj patients can share IF they were all living at the same address. 6 mature plants per patient, so say at his address its only him and his mom...thats 12 total mature plants. He can't be growing 24 plants unless he's legally the caregiver for 2 other people. As far as I know, signing up caregivers is done through the doctor that provided the recommendation.

Hell, if you could just become a caregiver for anybody without any type of approval process, why even set a limit on the plants? Anyone could just grow 60 plants and say they're the "caregiver" for 9 other people or have their mmj legal friends jump in and say you were growing it for them. That would be an incredible hole in the law....meaning law makers don't make mistakes that obvious...especially when you're dealing with controlled substances. Kinda like hey you're not 21 and you can't buy beer, but you go pay someone over 21 to buy it for you as your "caregiver". OK, alcohol doesn't have such a thing as "caregiver" but then again, mmj doesn't have such a thing as legal self-approved caregivers either :D Being a patient does not give you any legal power to grant someone else the right to use, possess or grow.

When you go to the co-ops, they make you sign a caregiver form. Lots of places give out free gifts to new patients to draw you in, not only to sell you stuff, but because basically your signed form ups their limit of how many plants they can grow.

As per a recent meeting held by MAPP: It was understood that the real intent is now "Collective" to at the very least drop the price's significantly, here in Calif. They plan to have gro meetings and 'hook-up' meetings to get some going!

The other main purpose was "Caregivers!" And if you are in Riverside County or can check it out for Inland Empire: You do need a 'caregiver' form, even if you do not use or have! Which is interesting. MAPP, I understood would give you the forms for free! I am not sure if I can put the ph # here, but I was told I could print any thing with the sponsor's name and #'s on any forum I pleased and that is directly from the horse's mouth!

If I can get permission, I have a lot of infomation I can post for Southern Calif. (Inland Empire) and regret it is not for the entire nation! Makes me feel guilty we have the right to and most have right not to! :( PR :rastasmoke:

My brother is not able to grow at his location, so I would have to be assigned as his caregiver by his doctor?

Also, do you know how California defines the difference between mature and immature plant?

in response to a couple questions: my County defines 'mature' vs 'immature' as the point at which sex can be determined, your county may differ ... in regard to these issues of plant count, etc., there is NO mention of plant limits in Prop. 215 (recently upheld in court), and, in fact, California's Amendment 420 allows the doctor to set your amounts, rendering the Counties' plant-count unlawful (my advice, play it safe - stay within your County's limits, it takes LOTS of money to argue in court) ... :smokin:

I too have gone to the meetings at thcf in riverside. I am going to renew my mmic next month at the clinic in riverside. Last time I had to go to LA to get my doctors prescription. It's about time the IE got such a wonderful service.
