Outdoor Heat?
I am a beginner at growing cannabis and I was wondering if it would be possible to grow outdoors in Oklahoma's heat. I know I missed the season and plan on planting next season during April/May, but I've heard weather above 95 Degrees can kill cannabis. If you're not from Oklahoma or familiar with its weather, it can get pretty hot. July and August can be Oklahoma's hottest months with 95-103 degrees during the day and 70-77 degrees during night.
Could I just put them with some shade and they will be okay?
Side note I just got 17 seeds today, they are soaking and going to be planted indoors

Outdoor Heat?
Dude you can grow the weed everywhere, usually cold temps. are the bigger problem. In fact, some the best outdoor herb in the world comes from around the equator. Just make sure, the plants get enough water during hot periods. And then all you need is lots of sun, good soil, nutes....:hippy:

Outdoor Heat?
You should be able to grow most any weed plant in those conditions, but sativas are more suited to hot environments. I would not worry about shade, as more light = more weed. However I do often plant my outdoor indicas in at least partial shade, or under some big tree, but only to protect from rain and bud rot, not sun. It sometimes gets 105 here, and I've not had a problem with heat. Of course you'll need to water more when it's hotter out.

Outdoor Heat?
I'm originally from Dallas Tex. & now I'm close to Houston & it gets a little warm down here but unlike up north it's humid as hell on the gulf coast & yes they will grow!
if you have the time.... there is a lot of info on this board about growing...
Mine are in the ground & what gave me the most problem was finding a place where the sun shined enough for my babies.....
out of my control was other growth(trees. bushes etc....)on properties not mine..
the area I picked last year changed a little this year because of tree growth for a years time... they still get 6 - 7 hrs of direct sun light & seem to be OK...
I do have to water my often because my soil is sand & I mean just sand! I mixed up potting soil w/my sand & let God do the rest... I do spray for bugs(neem oil) & help out a little but not to much...
there is a lot of info in the FAQ's & GUIDES read & read some more ... people will also help or point you in the right direction, thats why I like this site so much!
these are my babies...

Outdoor Heat?
Hi,
Where I live we a lot of days over 100 in July, Aug and Sept and I grow outside in a greenhouse all the time. In this year's grow are a couple of Swiss Miss ladies. SM is a strain recommended for colder and shorter seasons which obviously isn't the case here but they are just loving the summer heat. You'll want to start your grow as soon as possible because the bigger and more mature the plant the more it can tolerate high heat. You might look for a spot that gets a little filtered shading during the hottest times of the day. I don't know what your humidity levels are where you are but where I am they are low so I have to check my grow daily because when it gets *hot* they need daily watering.
