Should i FIM in early flowering?

Outdoor organic soil grow. About 4 mo. old.
My question is should i top/FIM my ladies if they are in the early stages of flowering? I was also thinking of taking off about a thinrd of the lower branches, resulting in focused energy on the tops. will this help me increase my overall yeild or will it stress the plants out too much?

dont cut all the branches at once space it out over a week or so and it wont stress the plant as much, not sure about the yield tho

Okat first that is not FIMming. That's just pruning.

You should NEVER FIM or top or pinch in flower under any circumstances~ it confuses and stressed that plant and WILL severely hurt your yield. There's no 'might' about it.

However, pruning the weakest low branches is fine. Only remove thin, spindly, weak low growth. This actually improves the % of your yield that is prime dense tops. The yield will be the same, but it will be much nicer, and you are also less likely to have mold problems with the improved air flow from taking out scruffy crap below the canopy.

For an extreme example of this, Google 'pistilwhipt method'.

Thanks Stinky. im also getting ready to purchase folwering fertilizer. what would you suggest?the last few weeks ive been cutting back on the nitrogen that i feed them . i was thinking a molasses/Sea kelp/Bat Guano-or-Earthworm castings/Fish emolshion TEA would work nicely. Any ideas?

No fish emulsion during flower- it has too much N. Use a bat guano product instead. Texas Grass has posted a lot of really good compost-tea and organics info in 'outdoor' and 'organic'.
Earthworm castings get worked into the soil, or can be added to tea.
Kelp liquid is great even mixed up weak and foliar fed.
Don't overdo the molasses- you don't need mch to make a difference.

I am Using FF Happy Frog "Fruit & Flower" (5 - 8 - 4)N.P.K. for flowering.....

This stuff was recomended to me by a respected grower who proves his point well.

He does'nt swear by it or anything but it is good stuff and has all the essentials in which your plant needs.........

I use about 3 to 4 tbsp and place it right on top of the soil and water......You only need to do this once a month......

As usual, I agree with stinky. I never, ever cut anything from a flowering plant. The possible exceptions might be 1) if I failed to trim the lower scruffy crap off before going to flower, 2) mold or rot, 3) I just can't figure out a way to tie or bend a big leaf out of the way from shading a good bud.

And fimming is pinching or cutting off the top 80-90% of a new growth shoot, in hopes of sprouting about 6 more in its place.

Unless you have a nitrogen deficiency be sure to use only flowering food and supplements during flowering.
