reduced noise heating pads

Any one know of a way to reduce the noise given off unwrapping the heating pads? I am soon to be subject of randoms at a new killer job and I'm planning on QFing them with a full time carry around arrangement like I did at the job before the current one. My plan is to stay clean untill they have their first random and then after I have the routine down, develop my plan. Previously I had made a device that had four 9 volts bundled to give 18 v at approx 300ma lighting some 24v halogen bulbs, the bulbs were enclosed in a thin piece of aluminum that was used for the heatsink, and the small Iv bag (from a FOF who worked at a hospital) was used to contain the water and when properly heated I mixed in unclejohns pee pee. I had a switch that I could cut on when needed, and all the wiring was using epdm insulated (rubber multimeter lead) wire. I see that The QF arangement is possibly going to be less bulky and inheriently more reliable, due to no wire connections to corrode and/or break. I have a multitude of fabrication options available, soldering, metal working and thermal plastic forming, epoxy potting ect. I am dedicated to this purpose and I will post diagrams, photographs and pertinent information to help everyone. First off does any body have a method to quiet the rumpling wrapper sound and can these heat pads be removed from the wrapper and encased in something else that could be clandestinely opened to allow the air in to start the reaction.?????I am going to have to get some of them and do some experiments, and record the results, and make adjustments as required. I could possibly make a sealed container with the qf bottle sealed inside, and the quicklime or other media outside of it, or as desighn may necessitate the qf on the outside and the heat media on the inside. I have done this before, with the batteries, I just would like to make it simpler, and more reilable, and chemical heat seems to be the way to go. Is any one else up to the task?? If we work together we could make urine testing for pot pointless.

For the noise problem I would say as long as your going to carry a lot of things a small pair of make up scissors may work or I used to carry a razor blade in my wallet back in the day. I only took it out when I would go through metal detectors at the airport or court. I even forgot it once or twice and they didn't go off. I was also thinking covering the wrapper in masking tape might help quite them. Please post your plans when you get them together, I'm sure they may help someone.

yeah Jeff that would be a good start. From there maybe I could have a ripstring that would be tied around your belt or clipped to your drawers on the inside so you could activate it at will without blowing your cover. I Got that job that I was posting about a few days ago, I still have to piss but I am like a week or so over 30 days and been passing home tests for 2 weeks. So not really worried about that, I will dillute a little just to be safe. I'm just trying to get a system worked out so when I see the routine, I can cope with it. They historically have only 2 a year and when they do everybody pee's or gets the axe. I like to do a lot of dry runs and have all the bases covered. Dollar general has those handwarmer things for a buck starting as soon as it starts to get cool. I am going to get a few and do some testing and work something out. If I could make a container that had maybe the Qf inside and the heat media outside, and maybe a screw on cap to open the air to the heat media, where I could act like maybe I was scratching a mad itch on my balls while I opened up the air, that would be cool. I will come up with something.

I've seen some people put the QF in a narrower bottle and stick it in there thermos to keep it warm all day. The heat pads work pretty good. I picked up a bunch at the dollar store and they seemed to heat up a lot quicker than the ones that come with QF. Depending on your job you can keep the QF in your crotch for quite afew hours before it needs a reheat.

killerweed, they know to watch us and there isn't but a verry slight possibility of getting free to do anything, and i can't rely on that though it was a good idea. I'm out to make a self contained piss unit that you can activate when piss is called clandestantly with out notice, it would only need to be hot for say 30 minutes. the ingredients in the chemical heat media could be adjusted to give a heat range that would overlap our desired range. I like to use commonly (aka cheap) available things when possible, and sort of Mcgivver it if you will. I was looking at those crystal heat pads that have the stainless disk in them to start the reaction, then when you want to reset them you just boil until melted completly and then you are ready again. One possible problem/would be advantage is that they are 130 deg. Right now I'm thinking bottle in bottle with a ripcord using the hand/toe warmers. I have read that toe warmers are supposed to only go to 100deg and that would eliminate over heating as a problem.then you have the problem of activating them and is 100 deg enough? your heat transfer will have some loss . I've got lots of ideas and I will work on this untill I get something reliable going because I love the ganga. If we could get several simultaneous prototypes going we would be sure to come up a winner with one of them. It could even be a contest. But it would need to be kept to made with common wally world
& craftshop type items to make it possible for everybody.

Just thinking....If you could have the QF bottle already wrapped with a unwrapped toe warmer (100 degrees is the avg temp. for these kind, since a 130 degree warmer would be too much heat in a boot) inside of another container that is air tight, then when called upon, open a valve that will allow air into the container to activate the carbon in the warmer. How to put an unwrapped warmer around the bottle without activating it first would be the problem. Oxygen is the catylst in the air that activates these. If you could build an oxygen-free chamber to open and wrap a warmer around QF bottle in and put it inside the airtight container with a valve, this might work imho.
I've seen guys use CO2 like dry ice, and "pour" the CO2 into a container, forcing out the O2 and filling the container with only CO2(CO2 is heavier than air)
Or go the other way and fill "up" a container with Helium (lighter than air), forcing out the O2.

You might consider a warmer that has a higher degree rating since this would allow your QF to heat up faster. Practice to see how long it takes your QF to reach desired temp. Carbon warmers take about 15 minutes to reach their temps.

By surrounding the piss with heater media, more even heating would occur and less could be used and therefor device= smaller and less obtrusive. It could be 2 vessels one inside the other with a cap on each end. One for the piss and one for the heat media. then all youd need to do when piss was called would be open the cap to the heat side and wait 15 min and the open the cap to the piss and then pour it in the cup. What ever transfer of the heat media is going to happen is going to be done in an oxygen free atmosphere. The toe warmers would be an exellent choice because overheating wouldn't be a problem. I really like this idea, be cause it is passive, your only worry would be air getting to your heat media. As a backup if piss had been called and your chemical heating element had failed you could make a fake attempt at pissing and have a stored rubber maybe wrapped around the outside of your rig for emergencies, pour the qf into it and go back to the waiting area (Sorry I thought I could piss but couldn"t) and crotch it for a few and then make the dump into the cup. Later today I'm going to get some bottles and hot glue and see if I can make such an arangement. I also need to get toe warmers, I don't know where to get them except maybe cabellas, most other places this type item is more seasonal to cold weather and they are not stocking right now as it is 95+ every day here. Any ideas are welcome, please we need more input, many minds will help us get a good homemade device going. I found my cable maybe I'll post some shots of my previous electric rig for inspiration, althought the cloth bag is skunky funky due to over a year of ball sweat.

Amazon has the same toe warmers I used for 11.42 for 30 ea. (2ea-15pks) It looks like they sell single packs too.

I was a bit surprised to see that Cabelas retail had them since its hot here too. But I would try any outdoor sporting goods store would have them....Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, Dicks Etc.

And always remember, some people can't piss on command so thats a good way to stall them for a while till you work your magic.
