sup people!? hey i have a question on digital ballasts. i was wondering what brand is a good digital ballast? i was wondering in compairing Lumatek(or other brands) ballast vs. a ballast off ebay(HTG Supply), which is better? will they produce the same lumen output? should i go with 600 watt vs. a 1000 watt cause i heard 600's are more efficient but i dont know. space isnt an issue its just that i want the best light that is efficient and high output.
The Galaxy's are nice... Not in love w/ the Lumatechs due to reliability issues. Infinity's are supposed to be pretty good, but I haven't actually run one.
HTG's a chinese piece of cr@p. Last one I saw didn't even have a plug setup on the lampcord- Ya couldn't even disconnect the reflector from the ballast.
Honestly, ya get what ya pay for.
This is a lot more important than you would think. I just gave away two lights I ordered from Inside Sun a while back for that EXACT reason. I was sick of dealing with them, and it was impossible to run them outside the room without cutting and splicing the cords. And moving them was a PITA- try finding a container large enough for the reflector AND strong enough for the ballast. I couldn't find one, so the lights got left behind, lol.Quote:
