Strange Feelings Of Breath

The sensation that I've been noticing the last 2 weeks or so (whenever I smoke) is annoying and disconcerting.

A few minutes after smoking, I begin to feel like normal inhalation of air does not satisfy my body's craving for oxygen. I can't really explain it, I feel like I can't inhale deeply enough to get that satisfaction of having taken a breath.

My solution and the only method that seems to counter this feeling at all has been to inhale slowly through my nose until my lungs are FULL, all the way to my stomach, so full it nearly hurts (but it still feels like I'm not breathing oxygen, or enough of it), and holding that in for 10-15 seconds. After about 5 seconds of holding it in, the not-enough-air feeling starts to fade, but only until I exhale.

The only changes in my environment and behavior that I could imagine having any effect on my breathing in this way are that I have been exercising rather intensely on a daily basis for the past few weeks, much more than normal and very early in the morning. Also, it's hot and sort of humid. I suppose humidity would be the simplest answer, but I've never noticed this in any other humidity I've been in. And that's my story about my Strange Feelings Of Breath.

You might have asthma or an acute form. Do you smoke cigarettes too? You might want to stop smoking in general. You may want to learn how to extract the THC into oils to cook or use a vaporizer instead. Dude that is some serious shit and you can't tell a physician that unless they are a close friend or someone you trust who knows you smoke buds. You really need to stop smoking in general. :detective1:

Has the bud been the same bud or does this occur when smoking different varieties?

I don't smoke cigarettes ever, and I have no difficulty inhaling. It feels like my lungs themselves aren't absorbing the air that's in them. The key here, is that it only feels that way. I have no choking or hypoxia symptoms. I don't feel tired or anything.

This also happens occasionally when I'm not high, I think smoking just increases my focus and attention to my breath, and I notice it.

I get those same strange feelings of breath... it's like not enough air gets into your lungs.. kinda shallow breathing. Make a Mmmm sound while exhaling through your nose..that kinda makes it feel better... I get that type of breathing when my anxiety flares up... Maybe we smoke way too much kush... well I know I do.. lol :cool:

it helps me to take deep breaths for a couple minutes until you get that satisfying inhalation like how it feels when you yawn

Ive always had bad allergies since I was little. They were much worse as a kid. I had a couple of asthma attacks and had to get a shot every week for a whole year.

When I smoke my nose plugs a bit and it is harder for me to breathe. It does not happen with certain types of MJ, but what types I couldnt tell you. Oh yea and my eyes get a dark ring under them. I think this might also be from allergies. Its not a serious reaction and I dont get a stuffy nose from just smelling some MJ, but when I smoke it happens.

Im getting a vaporizer soon to try and help with this. Its only annoying if im trying to sleep, other than that it does not bother me.

I experience the same thing when I smoke certain strains, which strains they are I have no clue... Even after cardiovascular activities I REALLY notice how low the oxygen in the air seems to be.

Also when trying to meditate I can tell that the 21% of oxygen in the atmosphere is pretty low, but juuuuust high enough to keep us alive.

OSHA claims anything below 19.5% is deficient. That's cutting it pretty close!
