Growroom set up would love as much advice/input as possible
i am a first time grower i am back by an experienced grower. we are looking at the set up for our room. the dimensions are 5x2.5x7.HOW MANY PLANTS IS REASONABLE FOR THIS SPACE? we will be using a 400w mh for the veg state. and the 400w hps for the flowering.
For the intake air i will be cutting a 6" hole in my door with ducting to allow nice fresh air intake into the room. The exhaust vent from my room is not going to the best spot it is heading right towards the garden next to my front door.Is there any outdoor plants that i could plant to mask the smell. has anyone used or know much of the "Fast Filters". also i was curious will there be a noticeable difference in hydro bills with going from normal to running my scrubber, fans, lights?thats the main thing in my mind being this my first time growing and such.
getting back to my set up i am using my buddy's existing lights, soils, etc but we will be making the ventilation. I believe he has a oscillating fan for air movement. so basically we need to purchase the inline fan and scrubber/filter and run the ducting to the vent. also another thing i am looking for in the inline fan and scrubber/filter is hopefully they aren't too noisy being that the vent is right by my front door. apparently 50 - 60 dba is good.
i've calculated the cubic feet in my room to 100 cubic feet. from the specs i have looked at for the vortex 4" inline with a fast filter is would accommodate the 100 cubic ft. in your opinion would you go with the 4" or the 6 ". we are also looking into a new cooling hood for the lights which apparently help alot.
has anyone used this "CO2 BOOST" bucket w pump. ive heard it can increase your yield 50 to 100% supplying 4000 to 6000 ppm to the room.
thanks all for for checking this out and once and any advice/input would be greatly appreciated.

4000-6000ppm is too much, and a waste. I don't like the boost bucket. It's expensive and inefficient compared to a tank system, which can be set on a timer and used only when the lights are on.
You should flower under 1200 total watts if you veg under 400. But in that space, it makes no sense. Try adding a second small HPS in line with the first one (two air-cooled hoods on the same exhaust circuit) for better coverage. You can veg under tube flouros (I'd suggest 3-4 2-light 4' fixtures with daylight bulbs, or a single 48" T5 4-bulb system) if you want to save the $$$ on the 400halide and spend it on another hps.
Buy the hood and fan and filter all together. 6" ducting is quieter for the same volume of air movement. Just sayin'.
Azalea bushes smell like skunk. That may be good, or bad. The filter is what you use to mask smell primarily... if it still stinks, something is wrong.

If it goes to an outdoor garden--I have learned that I like to plant Marigolds around all my gardens and doors! They smell nice and detour bugs! Read it in a book years ago when I planted my first vege garden. So, even if you don't have a smell problem, it will help any bug problems, it did for me! And I gro them for that reason, plus ease of growth, at least in CA! U prob. don't need them though. I had better bug free gardens with them! Good luck and please keep the gro room set up posted, will follow! thanks pr
