ive started up a little crop using an aerogarden. has anyone had any experiance using this. ive done a few mofications: i added two red LED panels on the side and put an air pump in the tank to keep the water flowing with O2. i set the garden on a timer for 12/12 for flowering. the air pump stays on 24/7. so far the master kush is lookin great! if anyone had pointers let me know. thanks. and if you have any questions let me know.

Way too small to support a crop of flowering cannabis plants, but if you can remove the plants without damaging the roots when the time comes, and transfer them to DWC or other hydro for flowering, it's nice for vegging a couple small plants.
it can be done stinky the newest HT has an article about it plenty of info. but u wont be able to fill all of the sites maybe half.
It's far from efficient then- I mean, if you end up culling half because they are male anyway, yeah you'd end up finishing in half the sites. But I'd expect that you'd want to initiate flower at a VERY small size, and that might not even be possible, because sexual maturity has to happen first. Maybe an autoflower strain would work?
I don't know...it seems like a lot of 'ifs' and not a lot of flexibility.
Yea what was the strain in HT? I have the issue at home but wont be able to check it out til 2m? it looked like they just put clones in there...
There are several other aerogarden threads here, and they all kinda seem like more trouble than they are worth, at least for growing weed. The spots for the plants are way too small, the lighting is insufficient for budding, the stock nutrients suck, the stock air circulation sucks, and on and on. I've seen people get weed with them, but why bother when you can get a bucket and net pot for much less money. People always seem to have problems with them, and the reservoir is big enough for one plant.

That sounds great! I just purchased an Aerogarden Pro 100 and am planning on starting a project the second week of September. I'll be growing autoflowering Lowryder 2 AK47 feminized seeds in a closet.
What nutrients are you using? I've read on different forums that the nutrients that come with the Aerogarden are too strong and you should start off using half the amount. A lot of posts on other forums seem to swear by Fox Farm nutrients.
Are you using the tomato setting or the herb?
How did you germinate them. In or out of the Aerogarden?
Also, did you split the sponge pod in half and trim the bottom so the roots won't have a problem?

If anyone stumbles on this thread and wants answers to some of the questions posted here:
- The strain used in the High Times article was Lowryder II
- The setting was set to tomato
- Grower used the nutrient pellets included in the kit.
I have an odd feeling about this article though. It seems like a commercial more than a story of innovation. The photos of the 7 vegging plants look remarkably like clones. The article says they are from seed. It also claims that they used distilled water, which would need additives that weren't listed, right? Or is that not needed for hydro/aero/whateverthefudgeitis. Another strange factor was that it was left on a bookcase in a study. So, since it is not an enclosed unit, they would not be able use the study (at least with the lights on) for whenever they scheduled the dark period. Doesn't make much sense.
BUT... I had the article handy and wanted to answer some questions.
