shriveled new growth on top?
I have some soil plants outside in FFOF+perlite being fed Botanicare at half strength with a PH of 6.7. These are in one and two gallon containers. plants are 6-12 inches tall.
The new growth at the tops of the plants, on a few different strains, is shrivelled and sometimes looks half eaten by something. If i bend the plant and tie it down, the middle shoots grow up perfectly healthy.
Just curious what may be causing this abnormal lack of growth?

I'd wonder if they were getting rootbound......

hadn't considered that...will definitely take off a shoe or two and investigate.
Our Shepherd is like the energizer dogbunny. She was adopted by us, but i have a feeling the previous owners when picking her out of the litter, chose the dog that came barrelling full speed into their legs...exactly how i would NOT recommend choosing a dog...maybe why they no longer wanted her..
She is a huge mass of love...and loves everyone!
Please tell me about your Hounds... They look cozy!

well i checked their shoes and they all have lots of room to stretch. I suppose it could be from hitting them with liquid lights at 8am. I did not think the filtered sunlight they get at this hour could cause the shrivelling of the new growth...? What are some feelings on this?
shriveled new growth on top?
Kind of odd.....6 -12 inch plants should be ready for a transplant up.....I think Stinky's rule is 1 foot of stem per gallon so sounds like they should be ready which is why I suggested it. .
I've had liquid light do some funny stuff to my plants so I guess its possible.....but usually wilting of the leaves is some sort of root issue......or possibly overnute or incorrect ph?
Got a photo?
Ps....those aren't my dogs....I just liked the photo, lol.

It could be over fertilizer maybe to much NUTES..... I've noticed when you hit them to much to Fast you get the leaf Twist......
Good Luck GL
shriveled new growth on top?
here are some pics of what i am explaining. I have noticed some spots on the leaves as well, the lower ones. Also a wierd coloring to where the outside of the leaves are normal green and the insides are a bit light. Anyone care to share some ideas?
shriveled new growth on top?
i have the same problem. two out of three of my aks are showing similar symptoms on new leaf growth, 3 of 4 of my bag seed plants are as well. i did use insecticidal soap around 3pm. do you think this could be the problem?
shriveled new growth on top?
I'm having the same problem. I know its not a root problem though because they are in very large pots and the plant itself is only three inches. My plant is both outdoors and indoors. I usually bring it in every other day to keep it under my LED ufo but other than that it's mostly outside. It's been raining a lot here so it has been getting a lot of water and I thought that might be the problem. But I let it dry out and the plants don't look any better. One of my leafs was shriveled, yellow, and brown so I trimmed it hoping the plant would focus it's energy on growing new healthy growth but my leaves are shriveling. They are still dark green but they look like I dehydrated them :/ I use only bottle water to feed the plants with a 1/4 strength general hydroponics micro and grow with also a 1/4 solution of maxi grow. I don't ever test my ph because I figured that bottled water is already at a good ph level. I don't really have enough money for ph up or down right now. So the ph could be what the problem is but I don't know.
What is liquid light? I've never heard of that.
