An event causing some disquiet

I was just smoking a bowl and became alert to this thing that was going on with the burning weed. It seemed that when the ember spread to an unburnt portion f the bud there was a spark or something and a distinct snapping sound.

At first i just figured it was moisture because the weed looks just like any other pretty good weed and is rather dense and moist, but the consistency of the ash made me wonder if something was weird with the weed. The ash was really grainy and coarse, which is very strange as i usually smoke the bowl until there is onlly ash left, no chunks of charred bud. It was really strange. Then I took a sip of tea and it tasted sort of like a subway sandwich.

Rather than the other option, which would be for it to taste like a beverage almost entirely unlike tea.;)
Did you get an unripe seed in there? Or was the bud improperly flushed before harvest?

lots of times that happens to me, and it's because of some fine bits of flint that fall out of the end of my lighter and into the bowl... it's too small to see, dust really, but when the fire hits it - it sparks. freaks me out because I think it's a seed that might blow up sending hot embers into my eye.

And dude I love it when food/drink tastes like something else when I'm stoned!

I know what you're talking about, that happens to me too, but this was definitely something else. The flint-sparks happen when I just flick the lighter over the bowl without pressing the gas button.

This crackling was from the weed itself as it burned, like every little bit that the ember spread to popped.

The other bizarre thing about it that I only just realized is that its only a single bud from the bag I bought that does this. I smoked a bit from that bud and it cracked and sparkled, then smoke a bit from a different one and it was totally normal.

I hope it wasn't "flushed" or whatever all that is incorrectly and I'm gonna be poisoned or something.

And whenever I sip coffee after smoking it tastes exactly like tomatoes.

that happend to me the other day. i was smoking a bowl and i heard like a pop noise then its started to make a wiered noise and i looked inside the bowl(i was really blown) and i had just realized a fly went on my bowl and i burned it and i was really trippin out i thought i was gonna die or sumthing bad happen to me because i smoked a fly on accident.

Sounds like maybe you might of smoked a seed? A good seed will pop and could possibly make the taste a lil bit different.

I got some of the same stuff. dense compact moist mexican beasters. I dont think its seeds. It also has an unpleasant taste and smells funny when smoked out of a bowl...
Im kinda scared to smoke the stuff because when I like at it under a microscope there was more than just trichomes on the bud. I would advise to smoke as least of this bullshit bud as possible!!!

definitely not a seed, it was the weed itself popping and sizzling

i looked into it some more and it seems that weed that sizzles and pops when it burns is most likely to have not been flushed of fucking chemicals or some shit.

that kind of pisses me off, because seriously who needs goddamn chemicals to grow weed? if you're so obsessed with growing weed that's 99% THC by weight or whatever so that you can get "more high" or something then you should just not bother because it's a pointless pursuit. it all just ends with me smoking nasty-ass poison like a chump criminal.
