I am in the market to upgrade my CFL's to a FLORALUX 150w HPS Mini Grow Light but I live in an apartment and I am doing this in my storage space with no outlets. I bought a plug in that you screw in with light bulb and that is were i get my power from.(let my know if that doesnt make any since) but i does not have a ground plug. My lights are doing ok without a ground but i dont want to plug up my 150 hps and kill my whole set up.
So what i am asking is this
Is no ground going to kill a 150 hps or be a fire hazzard?
I will take pictures when i get home from work and show you.

I HIGHLY recommend against running any appliance, no matter what it is, that is intended to be grounded, on an ungrounded circuit.
Furthermore, even if that screw-in DID have a ground, you would still need to check the max load that it can safely handle (in amps) against the rated draw of your light. If your light draws more than 85% of the rated max load on that circuit, you are SOL.
Your setup sounds a little frightening, frankly. Be very VERY careful not to overload that circuit, and since apartment storage areas are not necessarily your 'home', your rights may be very different, and if it runs off the main breaker box for teh complex, instead of on your personal bill, the landlord might start sniffing around looking for something fishy.

The fixture that yer screwing that adaptor into is rated for 65 watts.( Average commercial bulbholder.)
Yer 150 hps will draw ~175 watts @ startup.
Sizzle sizzle foomp.
'Nuff said.

Thank you for helping me not light my placeon fire! I just talked to a friend that is an electrician and he is going to be able to hook up power in the room for 200 bucks or so. It will be on its own circuit breaker. It is going to cost more than i wanted to spend but I have to do it right. Thank you.
