Auto Water Contraption Question
Has anyone used one of the bulb like auto waterers?
It's filled with water and the long needle like part sticks into the soil. I think it says it can water up to two weeks. Saw one at Ace.
I dont need it for that long, but I'm going out of town for a week and dont want my shrubs to get dried out. Thanks

I hope you see this RT.
One thing about that post, would using a regular timer, as opposed to the one you posted, work? Like setting it to run one day for a couple of minutes (after I test the rate of transfer).
I have an aquarium pump and tubing. I have three shrubs, so I would probably splice the tubing into 3 parts and insert it into each pot.
Thanks again. This site has been an inspiration and a library of knowledge.

You'll want a shorter 'on' cycle than than the standard (non-digital) Intermatic timers can provide.
A regular Intermatic timer runs on 15 minute intervals. Unless you have huge pots, or a really slow pump, best to use a digital timer for this.
Also...make sure all electrical stuff is up off the floor before you leave. Better safe than sorry.

Gotcha, thanks again
I have a digital timer. I'm going to make some test runs. I have some extra pots and soil, so I'm going to simulate watering with the timer as if I was away.
