Switching to HPS after transplant

I've been doing some planning on a new veg cab for my next grow so that i dont have to set up a big tent for plants that will only be getting to 10" or so before flower, the plan is to veg 4 plants in 6" pots under a 125w blue spec cfl until they are ready for transplant after say 2-3 weeks. Then i would repot them in 3 gal pots and give them a week to recover before flowering, but the bigger pots arent going to fit in the veg cab so this is when i'd move them into the tent where the hps is going to be, now would it be a good or bad idea to put them straight under an hps after transplant keeping in mind they will still be on 18/6 for up to a week or would this stress them too much?
