I was wondering if the people who use a res chiller could tell me their experiences? I was looking at a 1/4 hpower unit and would like some feed back before I make my choice. Iam cooling 80gallons of h2o. Thanks

No body uses a res chiller? Or is this in the wrong place?
I guess I don't know what chilling 80 gallons of water would benefit.
That is a good question, here is a litlle back ground. If your grow room temps's are around 89 to 95 during the day, and your res is in that room. Then evenetualy the water in the res would get above 72 and we all khow that is when alge and othrer slimy type creatures appear. So if we had a chiller that could get the temp to stay 68 alll the time the no more problems with elge and stuff. If I had the room I would move the res out of the room but this is not an option. A res chiller can cool and keep cool an amount of water at a surtain flow rate from 30 to 10 degrees,it all depends on the flow rate of the pump and the size of the chiller. Hope that helped, I am getting tiered of the frozzen bottle way and it's not even the end of MAY.......
this thought just popped into my square little head ... 'IF' the room is already kept cool with air-conditioning, why couldn't you let it blow over a section of aluminum sheet metal, etc., partially submerged in the tank ? ... it possibly may make a decent 'heat-sink' ... :wtf: ... I never heard of anyone doing that before, just a crazy, stoned idea
I have ordered a chiller 1/4 hp, will keep you updated on the unit and how well it works. Side by side comparison....;) Oh and just a side note I do not have A/C in this room. Just large air movement and add/replacement of said air.
what kind of chiller did u end up getting?
