Rapid plugs - mold, I think

ok so I have a quick question that can hopefully be answered quickly hehe...

I had about 30 seeds in rapid rooter plugs 20 of them shot up instantly and are doing great outside. 10 of them were really slow and about 7 came out of it, two of them were straight purple the leaves the stem and everything, they died a couple days later. The remaining 5 - 2 are doing great, and 3 are small and have not grown in a whole week. They just sit there with their main leaves green and their lower round ones yellow. I have came to the conclusion on the 3 that never sprouted that the rooter plugs had a white discoloration. My guess is mold, it is now noticeable on the 3 unhealthy ones growing.

Mold or no mold?

and if its mold, which im thinking it is, WHY did it develop?

Are you using a dome or cover that may create too much humidity? I think rapid rooters are great. Usually when everything is totally purple it is an indication of too high humidity. You see it a lot in the areo fog systems. The rooter's are normally sitting in 1/4 inch of water on my rig and with the dome on the seed house the humidity is goofy high so I remove the cover twice daily to get fresh air. Good Luck!!

no i used the rooter plugs to germinate, as recommended by a local hydro store. they are not under a dome just in their tray and as soon as they popped up i transplanted into cups

I will take some pics later tonight because the plants are getting worse, even my god's gift which was looking so healthy

lower leaves are starting to yellow. i know that botanicare cocogro needs calcium supplement but I was told not to add any till much later on... any advice on this?

Hey, whenever using Botanicare's products just plan on using Cal-Mag from day one. I have never used their cocoagro but any other botany products require cal-Mag. Keep an eye on youe ph as well.
