Smoking anything will dry you out, and smoked weed certainly is a desiccant. You have a vaso-constriction response after those first inhalations, which shrinks back the capillaries and also dries out your mucus membranes and saliva glands. That's why the age-old problem of cotton-mouth happens. Well, that plus the fact that you're inhaling combustible, heated smoke and particulate and then blowing it out, which saps your mouth and respiratory system of fluid very effectively.
Dehydration on its own, whether you'd enhanced it with extra perspiration, alcohol--which also dehydrates you, or just too much smoking of an especially drying strain, can cause nausea. That's a very common response to being too dry. Believe it or not, nausea and vomiting is a fairly common response to smoked weed, too. It acts on the receptors that talk to the brain's nausea/vomiting center, and while most of the time that causes nausea to be suppressed, which is why it's so helpful to cancer/chemo patients, in a smaller percentage of people, it has just the opposite effect and triggers nausea.
Before you smoke the next time, try this. Tank up on water in a big way. Drink so much of it that your urine is clear. Don't combine your smoking with alcohol use or super hot weather (or sitting in a hot tub). Then smoke and see if you still have the dehydration and/or nausea. It sounds like part of your problem may also be that you're worrying a lot about this, and anxiety will dry you out, too!
