a few questions about Cannaoil... [discussion]

I was thinking about making brownies using MVP's recipe, and i'm trying to figure out which oil would be the best to extract the THC and other cannabinoids in.

Is THC & other cannabinoids more soluble in regular fats? or are they more soluble in saturated fats?


Also, using which oil would I get the most potent cannaoil with?

Currently, I have access to some pure vegetable oil, and homemade Extra Virgin Olive Oil that I have no idea what the fat content is in it due to the homemade nature of this product. I was thinking of checking some stores to see if they have coconut oil, which is apparently almost all saturated fat, but i'm not sure about whether it would make a difference.

I've heard that coconut oil is a good choice as far as cannaoil; I think the saturated fat does absorb THC better than other fats.

^^ yeah, i've been hearing the same thing too, but i'm trying to get some clarification for if saturated fats do absorb cannabinoids better than regular fats

The advantage of using oils high in saturated fats is only partly due to them being excellent in absorbing THC. The most important aspect is a result of the molecular construction of these types of oils, i.e. the high percentage of short to medium chain fatty acids they contain allows the digestive system to process them quickly and efficiently. Therefore, less of that THC goodness (potency) is lost due to damage caused by prolonged exposure to the bile acids etc while in the stomach. :thumbsup:

So is coconut oil as good as butter? Do you think palm oil would work well?

I use canola oil for my recipes. Just because its healthier for you. Seems to work good.

actually canola oil (omega 6 fat) is inflamatory and among the very worst things one can eat - bad for heart and brain

that's why I asked about palm and coconut oil - both omega 3 fats and considerably more healthy ingredients (good vs. bad) than canola, corn, safflower oils (to name a few) and most other omega 6 fats

I've found canola oil to be as good as anyone could expect for absorption and delivery of medicine. But what about flax seed oil or hemp oil? Will either of those work?

I don't think this will make or break your high; cannabinoids (or at least the resin they are contained in) are/is lipid-soluble and also alcohol soluble.

Anything from butter to cooking oils, peanut butter, whole-milk, melted cheese, vodka etc anything food substance where the majority of the calories come from fat (or alcohol) should suffice.

The higher the amount of weed to calorie count, the better. Firecrackers are a relatively good way of getting a lot of weed into your stomach without having to eat a large volume of food, you get higher.


JMHO though.
