whats a flush?
the biggest lack of information on this site so far is pertaining to water a la frequency amount and nute levels, at the various stages :- seedling, veg, flower...
the only info i have gathered so far is that you half the nute amount when flowering...
i also heard someone say something about marijuana loves to be bone dry before its watered again...
now im hearing about a flush! whats this? is it a final watering before harvest?
could anyone make a sticky for this??
thanks guys! :rasta:

whats a flush?
There's a sticky about flushing to correct pH imbalances:

That should get you started.
Next, the pre-harvest flush is to clear out unwanted fertilizer salts in the soil, and force the plant to use up stored nute reserves in its tissues, so that it tastes less harsh when smoked. Mostly, you aim to get a mild Nitrogen deficiency going in the week leading up to harvest.
The nute that you want to cut in half in flower time is Nitrogen, not your overall fertilizer level. You add extra P and K during flower. The numbers on commercial bloom nutes reflect this.
It doesn't want to be BONE dry, but it likes its feet aired out a bit- when moisture in soil is used up, it is replaced by air, if your soil is as light as it is supposed to be. It's like taking off your rain boots so you don't get jungle foot, hahaha. Saturated soil leads to bad soil chemistry and root rot. Let it get dry, but not so dry that the soil shrinks away from the sides of the pot.
Your watering frequency is determined by the ratio of plant size : pot size, soil lightness, air temp, %RH, growth stage, lighting type, and strain... which is why there is no clear instruction.
Your feeding schedule is dependent on your fertilizer type, and fert companies have schedules posted on their websites.
