Lab Testing Question?

I'm going in on Monday for a pre-employment pee test. Two day's ago I went to a local lab (Not Quest) and paid to have myself tested for THC. The results came back at 12.92 ng which shows a negative for THC. I know the cut off is 50 ng and the lab lady said I shouldn't worry because I will test negative on the pre-employment pee test and that the Quest lab which will testing me by law cannot report anything but a negative back to the employer if results come back below the 50 ng cut off. Does this sound right? Seem's they could say I was negative but showed some THC in my system.

No they would not report back your thc level on a negative result test. Only positive results over 50ng will be reported to your employer.

Cool! That's what I was thinking too. What was funny is the person from the employers HR department yesterday told me to make sure I drink plenty of fluids before I come in so I have pee when I get there. I'm going to dilute but not try to over do it.

Thanks Deige! LitUpGirl, I quit in mid January. I have been using Urine test strips which kept showing positive until last week when one showed a faint line for negative. When I was at the lab getting tested they said the test strips are really not always that accurate. What was nice was to get the actual ng numbers and know where you stand. The people at the lab seemed to be open and honest about all the questions I asked.

It sounds like the techs were professional. Thats good. They are there to answer your questions not to judge you.

What kind of test did you have run? Was it a lowest detectable level test or what (which the cutoff on that is 1 ng/ml)?
