Thanks.
Surely someone must know. :rasta:
I googled grow rocks and came up with "Hydroton grow rocks" so I would say yes. There is Hydroton and Higromite. I have never used Higromite.
The clay pebble products all need to be pre-treated by soaking in water set to pH 6.0 and continually adjusted until there is no more drift, BEFORE adding plants to your system. Just FYI.
Oh yes, I know. I asked because there is a product called GroRox, and then there is Hydroton. The GroRox are described as being "pea-sized", whereas the Hydroton I've seen has balls almost 2cm in diameter. I was just wondering if the GroRox were the same size/same product, or if there was indeed a difference. I'm planning on doing a small ebb and flow setup for my next grow and thisi is why I want to know.

If that's the only difference, I would stick to the larger size. One of the most important benefits to growing in hydroton is the interstitial spaces between the rocks. Being large because fo the larger rock size improves air flow and oxygenation to the root zone- nice!
Cool. Well as always thanks for the advice! I think I'll just go with a big bag of Hydroton, as it is a lot easier to get anyway.
