insect control in the reservoir
just wondering if anyone knows of a 'preventative measure' of pest control that can be added straight to the reservoir?? might be a good idea if you had problems with bugs in the past. of course an organic based product is preferred. hopefully this method would help discourage them little critters from sucking the life out of our babies.

Keep your plants healthy with good grow practices, and they will be less susceptible to pests and disease. Keep good air flow around the base of the plants, and keep your humidity down. Avoid splashing onto the leaves. A 'zyme' product keeps sloughed-off dead plant matter from causing problems, and peroxide treatments kill pathogens in teh res. Also I would look into Bacillus thurengensis as a potentially beneficial organism. I believe it is used to control insects in ponds and pools- might be worth a google...

thanks for the input... i never had pests in my years of canabis growing. i have had aphids and catapillars in my hydro veggies that soap sprays didn't really help. i think its because the veg garden is located near a door to the outside that is open alot. just wondering if there were more options out there. thanks for the tips, might try one of the 'zyme products. what do you guys think of "dyna-gro pro-tekt" ? would this help out? thanks again, you guys rock!!

I haven't used that one, but you say you have had aphid problems? That's an easy one... ladybugs. You can order them by mail, and I highly recommend them for aphid and mite control. They are wonderful little garden helpers. I've used them in indoor cannabis grows, and also in a large commercial hydroponic greenhouse (culinary herbs, not weed :( ) where I used to work. Just release them and let them enjoy the all you can eat pest buffet!

wow!!! they totally slipped my mind!! thanks. i can get them at the local home depot. my veggie garden is pest free now, but as soon as i see some evidence of critters i'll try them. this is the only time i had pests, so controlling them is new to me. thanks again, and i'm a big fan of your posts StinkyAttic!

hey stinkyattic, the home depot here sells ladybugs and preying mantises. (cool critters those are) i just left my local hydro store and they have ladybugs too.at home depot, the mantises, come in an egg sack you hang in your garden, and when the temps are right(above 70f) they hatch and infiltrate your garden. i will use both the next time i have a problem. just glad my bud garden hasn't had any probs.(fingers crossed). thanx again.
