will you want to help? =).....please
I know because it is way to soon for me to be posting in the "Plant Problems" forum AGAIN. argggghhh!
Well this one i dont think i caused at least...
My problem(at this moment) is this, i have a bunch of White Widow on their 35th day of flower and they are about 3-4 ft tall and very skinny. The buds look like every other plant i have seen at about two weeks in bloom. The diameter of what is supposed to be the colas are about, literally, maybe just a centimeter wide. Something is not right. These plants have grown vigorously in all manner except flower producing. I have not seen this particular version of WW flower so i think maybe i got a bunk strain. The leaves are a nice green, with a hint of a pointing towards the lights...celebratory. But needless to say i am not.
I am running two 600 w HPS's on them, about 1 1/2 feet above them and i am concerned at this point about the electricity i am using. I did not know it was possible for the plants to look so healthy and then throw off extremely tiny fragile AIRY buds.
I met the guy through the Bay AREA classifieds (C.L) and received a few honorable strains. This is not one of them.
I'll try to post pics tomorrow.
Should i toss them out and start over?

I think the most common reason for slow flowering is light leaks, are you 100% sure that there's no light getting into the the grow room in the dark periods? Cold temps can also cause slow growth. What are yours like?

To add to hudson's reasons, high temps can cause airy sparse growth as well as low ones can cause small buds.
What are your grow conditions (troubleshooting form)?
Also, don't give up yet- 35 days in is still not in the major bulking-up window of some strains. Week 5 and 6 should make you celebrate more. :D

Well thanks for the thoughts Hudson and Stinky!!
The temps are right around 80 and the humidity is about 45. Stinky i finally brought it down trying to battle the powdery mildew problems, i was having and it has helped.
The reason i think it is a strain thing is because the over half of the room has WW X THC bomb grown from seed and they are large and hefty. When looking at the two side by side you would think the WW were in flower only for a week.
I am sure there are no Light Leaks because my first attempt just a few months ago ended with lots of herms. I have checked vigilantly.
And this is not even the full story. I think to give the best advice it is best to have all the details. So here goes.
The WW besides for being tiny leggy little things, have had a minor case of mites. I have been able to keep them under control but not eradicate them. I used a fogger once but stup[idly did not follow up with one five days later because i got cold feet on the whole chemical pesticide thing. Instead i started spraying with Neem and they have since repopulated. I am on week 4 for half and 5 for the other half and considering doing the proper 2 bomb schedule 5 days apart.
Or i was going to pull them since i am not happy with them, but there are nine of these WW and that will make me cry:(
Lastly i am afraid if i pull them out the mItes in the room will then move to the 5 ft giant WW x THCB that they have so far stayed off of. I know this is a lot of info and maybe hard to follow but this is what is happening in my head and its all consuming!!!
Any tips? Should i bomb? Should i take them out? Will the mites find the other plants if the ones they are on are removed? I think yes to this last question!!
Thanks you in advance for any suggestions!!!

I always find myself answering last questions first... lol.
Mites aren't all that mobile compared to insects with a winged instar. Even thrips have a winged adult stage that exists briefly and can fly. Mites do not. They need to physically walk or be carried to a new host, except in instances of EXTREME infestation, when they have been known to spin little parachutes of their cobweb material and float there... creepy!
While you still have time, try to find a bug bomb that is nothing but pyrethrin, because it breaks down so fast. I think Doktor Doom is safe to use even in flower. Or hang a No-Pest strip- the chemicals outgas but do not actually get applied to the plant. Another choice is ladybugs. I have mites, but keep them under control with preventative neem and SMC spray and a healthy population of lady-bots. Even mites that are resistant to sprays cannot survive the chomping and crushing action of the sexy ladies MWAHAHAHA!!!
Try vacuuming the plants if you have a rechargeable Dust Buster, too, no matter how silly tht sounds.
You are at the end of the window where bombing is even an option, so you shoudl look into that right away while you still have a chance. Pyrethrin breaks down fairly fast in intense light.

Stinky you are a kind and generous botanist.
I came home with 1500 lady bugs the other day. I released them at the start of "night". When the lights came on 12 hours later they were all in the tray i placed them, but they were not moving around. Most were on their backs squirming their legs around. Very Sad:( I am a bit sensitive when it comes to creatures...just not mites:)
I sprayed Neem the day before and think that may have done it?? I dont really know but i spent last night picking up every moving one i could find and putting them outside. I saw a few flying around on my back porch today. Glad a few made it:thumbsup:
I followed the directions...release at night after a watering...temp was around 80..maybe too hot? Or could have been residual from the birethrin bomb i set off 7 days earlier.
by the way i have noticed you always answer the last question first. So tell me.......just kidding you have been too generous with my mistake making self already!! THANK YOU

these are pictures of the good and the bad. Mostly bad though.
The two stringy looking pictures are the tops on 2 different White Widows. They are starting their 5th week today. Very slim.:( There are about ten plants that all look like that. I think it must be a strain issue because the other is pic is of a plant right next to it that is starting its sixth week. This one is a cross of White Widow X THC bomb.
Any thoughts? muchos gracias

The WWs were more infested by mites than the other? Hm. They do pierce the plant's leaves and suck juices... it would certainly be a shock. But I don't know enough about the scale of damage on different levels of infestation to make a statement on that, lol!
Put the ladybugs right on the soil surface and they will be happier. They can flip themselves upside right more easily on a rough surface. The neem should not be harmful to them; I'm not sure though how toxic pyr residue is to ladybugs after a week. They are still alive, anyway... that's a start.

Yeah the ww were the only plants i found the mites on. There were never many. I would check pretty thoroughly and the most i ever saw would be on only one or two leaves on a few plants. Other than the bud size the plants look healthy, if a little overly leggy. The leaves have always been a real nice green and pointing towards the heavens. I actually was so thrilled with their health that I anticipated big fat colas and hung a trellis up. Totally unnecessary.....but laughable now that its up!!:wtf:
Most of the lady bugs did not make it...the few that did i have set free:)
Thanks you one more time for your guidance Miss Stinkster
