hot pipes

i just made my first real pipe(i normally smoke bongs), it has a metal bowl and a metal stem. The stem is only about 2-3" long. I just smoked it, and boy oh boy was that smoke hot as hell. This is normal right? Is there anything i can add to cool the smoke down? should i add an air hole or something on the bowl?

the glass heats up after a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng session with lots of ppl but its pretty cool, smokes not hot, and u just dont hold the bottom of the bowl..

got me some glass, hits nice :p

i my opinion one of the best metal pipes I've every owned and there's been a few,,, is the silver palm so neat, slim, the smoke cools quiet a bit before it hits the throat very easy to clean (WD40 ) works a treat if you have the cash about £23...its worth the investment I've had mine for years when it first came on the market as it goes,,, for greens I use the water pipe with Lrg bowl as u may know from previous threads i don't smoke tobacco... ;)

Yo that hole u were talking about is called a rush hole or shotgun and u should add one. U hole it while lighting it and getting a good cherry then u let it open for more air flow when inhaling

Fuck a carb on a pipe, they are olny for bongs. Having a carb on a pipe is pointless cause it's so small, and who wants that crap...oh whats it called...AIR in their lungs while they are smokin a bowl?

Shotgun, is that what that hole is called? lol Anyone ever smoke from a shotgun like the Vietnam vets who invented it?
