Single Blade Leaf??:(
hey guys i go a seedling that was about 5 inches tall about 5 weeks ago. i let "her" grow in the pot she came in for a couple weeks, then put her in a 5 gallon pail. After i put her in the bigger pail, she grew dramaticly. she's now 16 inches tall!! so i'm happy about that.
but i've been noticing there's a bunch on single bladed leafs. i have some in set's of 3 and 5. but i'm now stuck with the single bladed leaf.
this is a closet gorw. she's been on a 24 hr light cycle for the past 5 weeks. watering every day. i wont be flowering soon, i'll be transplating her in the next month outside.
has anybody body else had this same issue?? is it an issue??
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks matt

Single Blade Leaf??:(
Usually that's a sign of stress, but if it has just started a growth spurt you might see them too sometimes. Was it a seedling or a CLONE? Clones often throw single blades for a while after coming off the mother plant.

I've never seen single leaves on a seedling, only on clones from flowering plants, which is normal for acouple weeks.

Single Blade Leaf??:(
this plant was given to me from my brother's girlfriend. she had 5 seedlings. the one i got was the one that was doing the poorest. so i took it under my hands and now single bladed leaf. i'll take pics tonight.
stress eh?? too much watering?? i water 1 a day. not enough light??? well i'm going to check things out with my plant. add some 20-20-20 and hopefully she'll continue to grow till may.
until then let the snow melt away. it's 16 degrees celcius and are calling for 21 degrees celcius on friday!!
here comes the sun!

Single Blade Leaf??:(
oh yeah i took off about 9 fan leaves that were covering light from the bottom ones that are starting to branch off. so maybe it was stress from the removal of fan leaves?
anyways thanks for the replies!!

Never remove fan leaves! You're going to turn that thing hermie!
If it's already stressed that young, you might as well start over. Read up on your basic techniques first, starting with the link in my sig.

I'm going to disagree with you! (I still love ya, gal! And you are absolutely right 99% of the time- but this is a 1% situation! :D)
I think he should grow out the plant! Yes, it MAY be a hermie....but it MAY be a "true female, unlikely to hermie no matter what! Give it a chance- easy enough to kill it IF/WHEN it shows balls!
My advice- grow her out, if she's a hermie, you keep a close eye on her and pick off any male flowers. If you get male flowers, you'll never get them all, but you can cut down on the number of seeds. All of us "old hippies" grew up on seeded weed, but you "young 'uns" are kinda spoiled by all this sinsemilla bud. Seeds are an inconvenience, not a disaster!
Stinky, this is a kid growing his one and only plant. He may end up with a hermie... or not. Flip a coin! At the worst, this is a learning experience!
Also, unless he is skimpy on the water or has a small pot, he's likely over watering. But in a month, "she" goes outside into dirt. All he has to do is just keep "her" alive for a month, and then Mother Nature takes over (and does a far better job than we mortals can do!). I think he can manage it! - Granny:hippy:

Single Blade Leaf??:(
so this is my situation. this is my first time "growing" in my closet. My first time growing was last year. I had 10 clones put "out into the wild". 4 months later, I was a happy man!! :hippy:
This year during my week off of college, my bros girlfriend came over and gave me this "female". Totaly unexpected! But I still took her into my arms.
Well the plan this year, before i got the "female", was to get another 10 clones and put them "out into the wild". With the "female" seedling in the forest near my place.
Do you guys think that my "feMale" will effect the clones. She's going to be under a 24 hour light schedule. So I'm not worried of her flowering. but is there any other danger that she might cast a spell on my clones(obviously the clones are females)???
thanks for all the tips.
should I try giving her some nutrients/organic fertalizer in the mean time?

You don't know she's a hermie yet. That CAN happen under stressful conditions, but isn't 100% certain. Jsut stop pickin off leaves unless they are already dead. And no, she won't affect the other plants you have. If you start feeding her, begin with a weak dose and work up.
