First Grow - CFL

G'day and thanks to all that contribute and leave supportive comments on my fantastic grow journey!

Ok! So my frist grow, I'm excited about this upcoming journey!
So ill give you a bit of the history behind this grow before I get into its current stages and pictures.

I have only just decided to do a grow log on my plant as if I run into any difficulties you guys can help me out, cheers!

- Germination of 3 seeds that took 3 - 4 days to grow tails.
- Planted and took 2 days to sprout.
- Grew them under a poor 1 CFL bulb (2700k 800Lume) No money to buy proper setup, was too eager to start :hippy:
- Grew for 4 days under this light until i had money to buy proper lights.
- Now they grow under 5 CFL's 5000K 1450Lume in a new setup (Pictures below) :D

> Watered every 2 / 3 days, soil stays moist.

Now you have the history, here is where I'm at!! :rasta:

So I built a 48L box setup (2 on top of each other) with an extension lead I made at TAFE cut in half and 5 CFL lights strung to that.
I have no ventilation atm so when it gets humid in the case, I turn off some of the CFL's. I'm soon to get a small computer fan on the top with a PSU modded out of the case to vent the humid air.
My 3 babies are about 2 weeks from sprouting I guess and are (to me) looking super and loving it in there :jointsmile:

I'd say ditch those clear tubs, way too much light leakage. But, you have a great potential grow box in your room! That great big white thing would work perfect, I wish I had one. You'll definitely need to get some ventilation in there soon, like as soon as physically possible. Other than that, I think things are alright, though theres not too much to fuck up at this stage. I'm on my first grow as well, so I'm just learning all this too. I wish you the best of luck on your grow! I'll be watching!

How far are your lights from your plants? They seem like they might be stretching.

they look hot. not the sexy hot but the scorching hot that hurts.

Cheers for the input, I know I need ventilation :( im just waiting on the pay day to buy some fans nd such. With the heat issue I found an old thermo and its reading 90F :P so i need ventilation FAST! lol

But yea, they are pretty close to the bulb otherwise, about 2 - 3 inches away.

I'm on my first grow as well, and I had some stretching like that. I re-potted a few of them deeper into the soil. Then I put the lights closer and it seemed to help. If your lights are already 2-3" away then I'm not sure why they would be stretching. Maybe they didn't get enough light when they first sprouted.

Get some fans in there and if you are worried about the smell at all, i suggest you get a carbon filter or make one. I'm on day 31 of veg and they are starting to smell stronger by the day. It may be a pleasant smell, but it sure would give away that you have something going on in your room.

I have the carbon Idea going atm, just strugling to find activated carbon thats all. Diff country :(

Not sure on the availability there, but you can find it in pet stores here. It's used in aquarium filters. I got mine off of e-bay because it is a lot cheaper that way. If you are unable to do it either of those ways, I guess I don't know where else to send you.

What about brand names?

If you can't find activated carbon (like me) you can use the crystal cat litter! Works just the same!
