i have big plants overshadowing little ones should i pinch the tip of the main growing stem of the big plants so the little ones can catch up??
I won't be the one to answer that, but i'm working on an adjustable height plant caddy due to this :D
Although you could just prop up the smaller ones....
I agree with Twenty, bringing the smaller plants closer to the top of the canopy will help them receive more light. You can pinch the tops, which will also give the side shoots on the big plants time to catch up, or you could train the tops of the tall plants at about a 90 degree angle. Both methods are equally as accommodating depending on your situation.
so i should prop up the little ones with bamboo sticks or sumthin??
If that will bring them back into direct light, there's nothing wrong with bamboo sticks. They're generally used to keep the heavy top colas from toppling over anyway, so there's no harm in starting early. I'm partial to training larger plants to keep the canopy even with the smaller ones, but that's just me.
ya i overlooked this prob when i planted them at diff times
Put the large plants around the perimeter of the grow area and the small ones in the middle. They will catch up. If you are flowering, DON'T PINCH! If not, it's your call, but I'd just shuffle them around into a stadium shape.
