Dean predicts Fla. delegates will be seated

The Democratic chairman tries to patch up the party's damaged relations with the state.

WASHINGTON -- Democratic Chairman Howard Dean reached out to Florida voters Wednesday to try to repair his party's damaged relations with a pivotal state in the presidential election.

Dean committed to do his best to seat the Florida delegation at the party's nominating convention in August.

His declaration put Florida back in the convention picture. But it did not resolve the thorny question of how the state's delegates might be allotted to Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

"We believe we will absolutely seat the delegation from Florida at the convention," Dean said, flanked by the state's nine Democrats in the U.S. House. His support puts pressure on the candidates to resolve the Florida issue.

The party's Rules Committee stripped the state of its delegates for holding a January primary.

Neither of the candidates were able to campaign in Florida...if all the delegates aren't seated I think this will be a MAJOR blow to the DNC.:thumbsup:
