should i get the fabric kind, the mirror like kind, or the kind that is white on one side and black on the other?
Umm there's only one type of mylar that comes in various thicknesses.
It is the kind with a mirror type finish.
I would either go with the panda film (black and white poly vinyl) or just paint the walls flat white.
Mylar is slightly more reflective than flat white paint but creates hot spots, is a pain to hang, tears easily, scuffs easily, and very hard to clean unlike flat white paint, which is much cheaper to boot.
ok thanks
do yourself a favor, use flat white paint (or, Panda plastic) instead ... awhile back, I bought top-quality 2-mil. Mylar, never again :wtf: ... after a couple grows, and a few GENTLE cleanings with water and Windex, it has lost it's reflectivity  ... impossible to keep clean, and it turns 'DULL' after awhile ... I'll never waste my money on it again ... it's only slightly better than flat white when brand-new, and gets worse rather quickly ...
i find diamond mylar the most effective:thumbsup:
ok thanks guys, how about using that thing that you use to reflect sunlight out the car windshield to keep the car cooler, would this work good?
