Starting off with bagseed...

Hello everybody! I have been researching growing, and witnessed a few grows of friends' for a couple years on and off. The price of dank in my area is rediculous, 120/quarter. SO ...we took a corner in the basement that's under an addition. The house is a frankenhouse so the area actually disappears quite nicely, you'd have to do some sleuthing to realize there's more basement, and even then the crawl space excuse could work. I have 2 cabs 4x3x6.5. 400watt hps with the extra blue in an aircooled hood, 172 cfm inline thru homeade carbon filter. Veg has 12 cfls, 6 under each hood. I made those too. 172 cfm thru carbon too. Both cabs have a passive intake on the door and an active intake with 80 cfm duct fans blowing fresh air on the plants. I had an assortment of old bagseed, and wanted to try with it for a test run. I also have seeds from a friend's grow..(he flowered his male in the next room....with pantyhose for an intake filter...some pollen got in there) I started 6, got 3 girls, kept one mother and put the other 2 in flower 12 days ago. I tied them down to open bud sites and maximize my yield. The mommy is just over 7 weeks from seed. The lettuce patch next to mommy is my buddy's new strain from his mistake. The leaves are fat as hell! Very light green too, looks like lettuce. They are just over 3 weeks from seed. Everything is in dwc, 2 airstones in each tub, one 2 outlet pump per tub. I use gh 3 part nutes, 1/2 strength of the recirc easy program..about 975 ppm with my 150 ppm tap water. I plan to take cuttings every month, clone in bubble cloner I made, veg for 3 weeks or so(4 weeks total incl clone time), then flower for 8. I will harvest 4 plants (possibly 5) every 4 weeks. This is to supply a small group of buddies, and break the chain of dealers. We plan on buying genetics too, and keep a mother of that strain and my current mother. Thanks to everone on this site, it, along with the bible, helped me get going! I am happy to say that other than minor ph fluctuation I killed with 3% peroxide (about 2 cups per 13 gallons nutes), I haven't had any major snags! I do plan on replacing the cfls with a 250watt mh. Does anyone think that will run cooler than the 12 26watt cfls? I think it might. If not I'll aircool that too. I may add co2 down the road, but may not need it as I plan on nice yields. I can't wait to not have to pay 120$ 3 or 4 times a month!! :thumbsup::D:rastasmoke:

THX! Best part is that the room the cabs are in is lockable, and is built into a long skinny finger in the basement that juts out under the attatched inlaw apt which is 2 additions. That apartment has a seperate basement, so this room disappears due to the slick shelving we have in front of it on hinges. Also, the vents empty out under a big deck, so no noise or visible vents. It really disappears quite nicely. The actual room is 18 X7.5, so it will be hard not to not be tempted to utilize the whole space to help with this rediculous recession, but I am resolute to keep it small for just personal use. Like my name implies, its all for me! (well, there are 4 of us. I know too many people but we are all best friends for the last 15 years and I trust those dudes with my life and know them well enought to know they'd never talk and risk losing the best thing ever to happen to them!) I hope to get at least 6 oz a grow, an oz a piece per month, and 2 oz or so to throw around...friends family, sometimes a few buddies come over and your stash gets cut in half in one night! Any ideas on whether the 250 mh will be cooler than the 12 26watt cfls? Then I wouldn't have to aircool it and it would be a bit cheaper!

looks sweet man, no basements in my neck of the world m8, jealous! attics are too aggravating to get into (small here) - So, i am going to use a closet.

for bagseed looks great... what kinda bud was it? decent mid-level or some funky skunk?

Well, I guess why bagseed is a crapshoot. Of my 2 flowering plants, one was a hermie. Killed it. The other one is at 25 days. MANY bud sites, I expect it to be a nice yielder! The big mom I was keeping got out of control, I think some of her sativa genetics took over. Not what I wanted in a mother, so I put in in flower Sat Night. It WILL get huge, so I am going to have to train the heck out of it. I trimmed it down, topped it about 2 weeks ago, and took off some undergrowth. It's more of an experiment, if it gets too big I might cut it. Out of my lettuce patch I got 1 girl out of 6. She is gorgeous tho! She looks maybe to be afghani?? Very broad leaves that overlap. Definately indica dominent as it is just 5 weeks old and has 11 nodes and stands about 9 inches tall. Very bushy. I will keep this as a mother because it is the last seed of a strain I got from a bag 2 years ago. Plus it seems perfect for this indoor grow. Anyone think it is afghani like? Down to 3 plants, but hopefullt that mom will start a nice perpetual harvest to be joined by another strain tbd. :thumbsup:
