Lamp posts padded to protect dopey texters
HEAVY padding has been strapped to lamp posts along a busy street in an attempt to protect text-messaging pedestrians from injury.
British text messaging service 118118 has started attaching layers of padding to unmovable objects that walkers could run into, metro.co.uk reported.
Rugby post-type padding has now been wrapped around at least ten lamp posts along London's Brick Lane â?? which has been regarded as the cityâ??s most dangerous place to type text messages.
According to a 118118 survey, 10 per cent of Brits had injured themselves while sending a message, and 44 per cent said they would be happy to see lamp posts padded.

The padding has got to be a bit unsightly just to protect dumbasses who don't look where they are going. Maybe a better solution would be something like an "Invisible Fence." If you got too close, there would be a warning beep followed by 50,000 volts.
