can somebody send me a pic of wat a male and a female plant looks like when it first starts to grow and finish product?
i don't have any pics of a male in hand but here are a few pics of a female.
the first pic is of about 3 weeks flowering, the second is about 7-8 weeks through, and the last is dryed buds hanging and ready to cure.
i will look for some male pics on the web to post later.
ok, here are a few links of male plants.
early flowering of a male(maybe a week or two)
this one is a fully bloomed male
hope this helps!
thanx
i cant realy tell if mine is a female or male yet. but there are little leaves startin to grow near the stemon every leaf.
the way to determin if male or female is:
male plants alwas have little pouches on the stem where a smaller stem grows off it this is where it releases the pollon from(they are like tiny balls)
the female instead of pouches has little hairs which will develop im to flowers(bud)
when do these balls appear? how many days into the grow?
Males mature faster than females (although not the case in ..some..creatures..).. that's a key thing to remember. Balls also appear in clusters, so you won't have just one little ball .. you'll have a bunch appear.. and quickly...
Best place to look (assuming you haven't topped) is in the growing top...
Don't be quick to judge!! the female pods develop very similar to the male balls...the only difference is the male balls grow in clusters...
the female flowers also grow in clusters.. that's what makes up the "bud" is the clusters of female flowers.. but at that point.. you'll be more than sure it's female.
once you see it once from your own grow you will know.
trust me it gets A LOT easier once you get through a grow.
found some info right here on cannabis.com

A short while into the 12/12 light cycle, you will be able to tell males from females. It is critical to remove the males at first detection, as you want to cultivate only females, which will produce large, seedless, sticky bud.
yep, you can find pretty much anything on these forum now...see the little search tab up there  ... it's great for all kinds of things.Quote:

If people..would just take it onto themselves to look around first before posting, we'd reduce the amount of repeated threads.
