I found this the other day, some may have seen it but although I didn't agree with what he said in the end, it was funny how he said it haha, it pretty much sumed up a LOT of ppl's cases! What's there to be concerned with Mr. Obama!? :jointsmile:

The problem is the people who DONT need MM always try to get it.. For example on these boards you regularly see people asking for tips on how to bullshit their way to a card.. Theyre just adding to the problem..
Imo, if someone is geniunely sick and they need MM they should be able to get it from any pharmacy, on their insurance etc.. They should also be allowed to grow it, with a license to grow of course. The whole problem lies with the stigma; as Obama said, while mm isnt the "same" as morphine, the principal is. WE know mj isn't bad, but even if politicians claim it is, they cannot claim that it is worse than morphine, and thus, cannot be disallowed as a medical product..
On a positive note, I can see MJ being made legal across the US for medical purposes in the next couple years, if Obama wins of course. That would be a great step forward, especially cause of the USA's influence. (Here in the UK, newspapers are starting to print more of this "skunk cannabis" propaganda.) It makes me sick to read it, the misinformation being fed to the public as fact. Hopefully if the USA gets its act together with their presidency and gets MJ sorted out medically, we will do the same. Total legalization is a long way off, but who knows, 20-30 years time anything could happen.

It should be legal for anyone, for any reason period.
You don't want people "bullshitting" their way to get a rec, then legalize it period.
I don't blame anyone for getting a bull shit paper tiger rec, it is a small amount of insurance against "local" authorities anyway, and the consequences legally could be as harmful as physical illness.
Hard to provide for a family when you are in dibillitating pain, also hard when you are in jail.
So please someone explain why only "sick" people deserve to get to use marijuana? I am all ears.

Continuing to advocate solely for medical use, will not help in advocating for people that legit need it, or in advocating for personal use. It simply allows the debate to be contained in an arena that is easily defeatable, while continuing prohibtition.

The direction of activism with marijuana is not all that surprising politically, since it is mostly headed up by liberal intrest groups, however as usual, the libs are wrong. Proof, California, nuff said.
The cannabis movement needs to get behind and support THE MAJORITY of users, and not the small minority. Then progress can be made on all fronts, and those that do desperately need it for medical relief will have access as well as anyone else that would choose to use.
Throwing responsible cannabis consumers that are using recreationally under the bus is only hurting the anti-prohibition movement. IMO.
Do you think that they legalized alcohol, because of it's medicinal value? Not hardly.

No ... not everyone in the "cannabis culture" truly seeks the legalization of marijuana. If marijuana were legal ... they couldn't sell their seeds for $5-$20 a seed. Don't forget "Special Rights Advocacy Groups", the day cannabis is legal, none of them have a job.

From what I recall, the Attorney General, and Congress, only have the power to act to remove cannabis from the current sched of narcotics. And from what I recall, a petition was files in 2002 with the FDA/DEA, and is currently in review.
Until cannabis is taken off of the sched, real medical patients will not have the access they need, and responsible adults that would choose to use it recreationally will continue to be "criminals".
So this begs the question, what is happening with the money?
Well, you are still allowed to make a living even if you are working for a non-profit, and I am betting, I don't know, but I am betting that almost all of the money simply goes to salaries and wages.
It's funny, in someone's signature, it says that people that use cannabis are less susceptible to propogands, I think that is obviously false. People that use cannabis aren't any more or less likely to buy into and feed into bull shit blindly.
