cloning in rayon

i didnt have the cube so i got some super absorbant rayon and followed the clone guide without rooting hormones.
i am misting my dome once keeping the temp at around 70-75
my question is i have it setting in a dish i havent heard anyone saying they water the trough the cube sets in and how much.
also i am using micro amounts of nutes around.0025% in this water just to see what happens the clone seems to like it but it is only day two.this is a bag seed so i am just practicing on it before i do the good plants.
