Age-Limit in Amsterdam....

I know that the age for smoking Cannabis in the Netherlands is 18 years old. However, this summer, me and some friends are going interrailing. And ofcourse we have to stay a couple of days in Amsterdam.

The problem for the one person is that he's not turning 18 until November, and he has to get into the coffeeshops with us. He looks pretty old for his age, and acts old too.

Do the people in the coffeeshops often check ID, or is it enough to only look a bit older? And which ID counts as valid ID? Do you have to bring you're passport, or is it enough with a Visa, or something?

Some places do ID you in amsterdam.. I suposs its just a matter of luck.. Try even gettin some fake ID made up for your friend.. :jointsmile:

But do you think it's enough with a fake Visa? I can make those, almost 100% identical to the original. But do they accept this, or do you have to bring a passport?

uh...fake ID or anything fake is not a good idea! if he gets caught with anything fake, or ask for ID, and then look at this passport, he will be in more trouble having fake shit, then just being underage!:wtf:plus u are going into a totally different country! anything fake u will get busted in a heart beat! dont be stupid!:jointsmile:

You are asking for serious trouble.
Bringing an underage person into a coffeeshop puts the owners at risk of losing their license, and they get VERY ANGRY when selfish people put their jobs at risk.
Not a good idea.

ya if not it will be like booz in the states if places card you, just you buy it for him haha

just find someone over 18 that has the same key features ie. hair color, eye color skin color.. and that has a old id (passport is good) from before they started puberty, then get him to use that.

Ok DONT do the fake ID thing.. Thats my Bad, never thought it through propley, if you get caught you will get in some serious shit..

I don't wanna get caught, and I really don't wanna make any trouble for the people who runs the coffeeshop. But it would be really bad to not be able to bring our friend with us. I don't know anyone who looks like him at all, and neither does he. But the visa thing. I'm 99% sure that he won't get caught, cause I've made them before, and it looks exactly like the original (photoshopped the birth date though.) But the thing is, do they accept Visa, or do they only accept a passport. And also, do they check ID often, or is it just some places?

If you don't look over 25 you WILL get carded in almost every shop.
They want to keep their license, and they don't take any chances.
Maybe you should wait until November, and go for the Cannabis Cup. You'll have a good long time to save up, you'll all be legal, and you'll be able to buy that much more weed!
